My sentiments exactly, Mr. President.
I sincerely hope the resignation part is true. Law enforcement is not his forte. He should probably consider a change in where he lives as well. Heâs worn out his welcome in Ferguson.
Well, gee whillikers, President O, when cops use being black as an excuse for violence, and the justice system fails them, what are people to do to send a message that theyâre just not gonna take this shit anymore?
If the justice system doesnât provide a dis-incentive for cops killing unarmed black citizens, whoâs gonna do it? Well, theyâre gonna do it.
No one in their right mind wants violence or destruction. But if this cop-friendly DA whose father was killed by a black man doesnât indict, and this idiot special-prosecutor-denying governor ironically named Nixon sends in his tin soldiers, all fucking hell is going to break loose from sea to shining sea. People are understandably not in their right minds, because this bigoted system has pushed them to the breaking point.
I disagree. The grand jury acts on what the DA presents. The DAâs biases are clear and well documented. The governor refused to substitute someone without those biases.
The DA and the Governor are at fault. The grand jury are just pawns to give them cover.
Jesus, the trolls are out in force today⌠no pun intended.
The plain old human condition will rule this whole situation. Thousands will be out to peacefully protest/celebrate the verdict. Hundreds of officers will be out to maintain the order. Then one asshat in the protesters/officers with no other intent or interest in the outcome than their own neurosis will throw/shoot/hit/scream at the other side and fear and loathing will drive the conflagration. Doesnât matter what country. Doesnât matter what the issue. Doesnât matter what social justice demands. Weâre in an age where the fringe extreme gets to rule the day.
I phrase it wrong. I was thinking, and should have said, the fault of the grand jury process. We wonât know for certain whether the prosecutor deliberately botched it or whether the people on the jury were simple too biased to see any black man as a victim until the transcripts come out.
