PRACTICALITY. Practicality is what we Democrats have always been loath to express, going for the symbolic (“I’ll withhold my vote to make a statement”) instead of the practical (which is what most Republicans intuit).
Laughing at the incredible wit of Jon Stewart and then forgetting to vote in off year elections.
As far as not getting stuff done in the last 8 years, I’d also blame Obama for not pushing harder when he had a majority in congress, but then again maybe the some of the Ds would have still balked.
Man I really hope she gets a D congress and can get some shit done to the point where people realize D is the way to go in federal politics and we don’t have to keep fighting this dumb fight every 4 years!
Sorry Jonney_5 but Nixon was never Governor of California, or any other state. He was a Congressman and a U.S. Senator from California but lost his only run for Govenor the the first Jerry Brown in 1962. After that defeat he promised us that, " You won’t have Nixon to kick around any more."
Yes, gotta trust 'em. Starting today, she’s got to drop
some New Deal type goodies to give little turds like Todd something to chew on.
Let him try to turn them into negatives.
The prez and Hillary just layed out a whole trotline full of bait for the donald. can’t wait to see him take the bait.
I can already see his staff telling him to stay away from that phone.,don’t you dare tweet.
Call me “fanboy” but Obama’s always been one of the few politicians whose speeches really made me feel something, and that has to be because he’s not just a brilliant communicator but because he actually cares about something greater than himself. And in Trump he has a natural enemy—a person who cares about absolutely nothing but himself and would cheapen and trample in the mud the things that are worthwhile about this country. My heart’s going to be racing with anxiety until Trump gives his concession tantrum but this is almost certainly going to be an epic campaign.
Yep! I always get that from him – I sincerely feel in my gut that President Barack Obama cares about the greater good, about all of us … always looking to see what’s down the road, so we can prepare.
I watched Obama giving his speech at the rally on TV and it was a beautiful thing to behold…and he’s just getting started. The sharp elbows will come later, when they’re needed most, whether it be by way of humor or wit to get under tRump’s skin…He’s got this. He’s just such a great speaker and booster for Hillary, and I couldn’t be more proud to be a Democrat when I hear him speak on Hillary’s behalf. As much as the media resents having to admit it for some reason, President Obama is one of our finest orators and public speakers as a politician from either party in a very long time. He’s one of kind in that regard and presents an absolute advantage on the campaign trail for us Democrats.
As the President said, “Don’t boo, just vote”. I’m so fired up when I hear him speak and say that phrase again…and “I’m with Her” is also such a great tagline because it reminds everyone of the undeniably historic nature of her campaign whenever it’s said. Partisan pundits will want to compare Obama’s popularity in relation to Hillary’s in order to take swipes at her…but they’re really reaching for straws if they think his campaigning for her is some sort of negative rather than the obvious plus it would be if any President backed the next nominee for their own party. Too bad the Republicans haven’t had the luxury of having a previous President either support their nominee or invited to do so…Suck on that, GOPers…Proficiency and commitment in public office beats stupid insults by a nitwit any day of the week.
