It must be tough times for mediocre hacks who believe their coverage should be “balanced,” with negative stories exactly equal like slices of cake at a children’s birthday party. You’ve got one candidate who used bad judgment this one time years ago. And you’ve got another who’s a demon-possessed half-wit sack of radioactive jellyfish venom with bad hair and a stench of corruption that would knock a vulture off a garbage scow. Makes that balance thing tough.

This is a minor issue in the context of all that is happening, but it is Gold Star Family not Gold Star family.
Awesome as usual.
Showing an America in the midst of its anger and fear that we are a nation of strong good people, and that these strong good people are varied in countless ways is a great strategy to rebuff Trump. Rants about Anonymous Evil Others are nicely countered by the whole Khan family or Mark Bingham, the gay rugby player who bashed in the door of hijacked United 93.
Most of us have stories of people helping us or even just being kind to us that have caused us to reflect on whether we would have been as generous if the shoe were on the other foot. I’m sad for the Khans–for their loss and for being on the receiving end of heartless, wicked, ignorence. But I’m glad they remind me of how much I owe to so many.
