Discussion for article #226250
Great, a new Iraqi Prime Minister for the government that the Iraqis will not fight for.
“The only lasting solution is for Iraqis to come together and form an inclusive government,” he said."
He loves all the “inclusive” stuff.
You got a better solution?
Glenn Greenwald for President 2016!!!
Are you saying the solution is something other than a legitimate gov. that includes all Iraqi people?
Ummm, no.
There are indications that a better representative Iraqi gov. that is not driven by a sectarian agenda from the top would be one Iraqi people would support and fight for.
Heh.
Right now they’re in a fight for their lives to keep ISIS from reaching Baghdad.
A new Prime Minister and an “inclusive” (deal with it Darcy) government is more about separating Sunni moderates from the ISIS extremists.
Darcy is at war with adjectives.
Bingo!
I bet there are a ton of packed bags in the green zone and other places around town right now.
You mean the grifters over there might have to come home and make an unequally dishonest living?
Swell.
It may be the cradle of civilization but there has never been anything “inclusive” about it. And then there’s Afghanistan that hasn’t had a central government in more than a 1,000 years.
And I’m sure the Kurds are all for the “inclusion.”
Afghanistan is 100% irrelevant to the discussion. But way to dodge and duck your original insipidly pointless attempt to try and spit venom at the POTUS for saying something 100% reasonable.
Maliki, spider hole for one, your table is ready
There are more indications that Maliki is going to launch a coop attempt before the theory you are putting forth can ever be put to the test, however. He is already moving tanks and troops into Baghdad and surrounding the President’s house from the latest reports I heard this evening.
Its going to get a whole lot worse over there before it even starts to take a turn for the better.
Its actually worse than that, Doremus. Maliki si gather troops and ordering them to surround important government buildings in Baghdad according to the latest reports this evening.
It appears they are going to have fight a civil war/coop first.
Yeah, I’m aware of that. I guess he didn’t see Obama’s press conference.
If we still had troops in Iraq it would be quite a pickle. Someone should ask John McCain about that.
This should get interesting real fast.
