Trump will just cancel the Executive Order so it will only last about 3 weeks. Not nearly enough action by Obama. Obama needs to do something Trump cannot cancel in 3 weeks, like confiscate bank accounts or something.
This was done by executive order. Trump will be able to rescind them. Let him look like he has more loyalty to Putin then our American Democracy. His make America first slogan will ring very hollow.

@pickwick @douglashh You may call them “executive orders” and yes, maybe they can be undone, but nowhere in the president’s statement were they called “executive orders.” The administration says it’s “issuing sanctions” and trump will then be put into a position of defying this country’s intelligence agencies by rescinding them.

Unfortunately, this “punishment” will end up being inconsequential. Most if not all of it can and will be undone by a Donald Trump executive order ASAP upon his taking office.
Said plainly
He CAN choose to strike that ex order and try to get along with the rest of his day.
By doing that, he would then be at odds with the anti-Putin lobby on Capitol Hill,
Now if Trump has capital to lose, then go 4 it.
However McCain has better #'s than Trump.

Good thing about McConnell these days is that he’s starting to lose it a little bit. Not quite as sharp as he used to be and the stress is high as well as the stakes. He’s still shrewd and evil as hell but age has caught up with him and it’s been showing a few yeas now. That turtle shell may crack with the pressure and he’s been talking in circles for so long now he’s bound to be getting dizzy.
