Discussion: O-Care Architect Calls Voters 'Stupid' And Conservatives Collectively Flip

ZING!!! ha ha ha ha!!

Well, the ultimate cynical twist here is that it’s Republicans cynically playing on the stupidity of people who think their health premiums wouldn’t be paying for the claims of lazy, sick moochers if not for Obamacare.

A breath of fresh air and if you wanted transparency you got it. We have to put up with at least 2-3 racist remarks that go national every week - followed by a non-apology apology.

What the Democrats miss in opportunity is the ā€˜stupid’ American voter is impressionable, can be manipulated, educated (sometimes) and persuaded. But you have to do it!!

EDIT: Then again, the more I think about it, the administration did spend time trying to explain ā€˜things’ but people like Palin can so easily muddy the water with death panel bullshit and set back progress for months at a time. And of course there’s always the fallback excuse - you can’t teach stupid. Beginning to believe it applies more than I want to admit.

ā€œā€¦he told the truthā€¦ā€

What - that American voters are stupid? Maybe.

It’s absolutely true that he described both Obamacare and American voters In the stupidest, most offensive way possible.

This is a thing because the stupid GOP voters in the House and Senate do not understand how insurance works.

I do not think the GOP’s feelings are hurt. (Truth be told they already know voters are stupid; it is critical to their campaign strategy.) But they want to trumpet this statement to gin up passions against "pro-Obamacare’ persons, even if they are not politicians.

And you pay for local taxes even if you never call the fire department or police or have any kids in school.

inside baseball syndrome. also, i’m guessing people who talk so techocratically about insurance are very used to being 100% completely ignored.

Note to self: Call fire department.

I say again: we can describe Merkin political economy in 4 words:

Repubs crazy, Dems incompetent.

Anyone want to wager the Dems won’t say a word about this?

Best,

D

LOL. I see what you did there. LOL.

They’re not incompetent so much as they’re spineless. Dems are competent, they just don’t know how to convey that, they’re too timid about tooting their own horn. But if you don’t toot yourself who will?

He’s not an ass. He’s a straight shooter, nothing wrong with that. Plus, in his defense he is telling the truth.

When did the government make you buy a car?

Romney suffered.

how fucking unaware and stupid is he.

Fox never made a big deal when Gruber said Romneycare and Obamacare
was the same fucking thing

When will children stop writing blogs like this? Has Dylan Scott even taken a Journalism 101 course? His post reads like a Republican talking point. Gruber’s was a policy consultant, knowledgeable about healthcare, being from MIT and familiar with Romneycare. He was not speaking for the Administration, he was at a policy seminar, and was inelegant, and chose his words poorly to make his point ---- A year ago. And now the Republicans, and their lackeys in the media, report this out as big news. The only comment the White House should make to Scott and TPM is ā€œgrow up.ā€

and yet the ā€˜affordable care act’ polls higher than ā€˜obamacare’… go figure.
perhaps the guy had a valid point.

That’s why taxes are tyranny. If only we would go to a fee for service model of government finance, people would be able to buy only as much government as they wanted and we could all live in perfect freedom.
