Discussion: NYT: Trump Lawyer Forwarded Email Comparing Washington To Lee

“There is literally no difference between the two men.”

Right. Other than their names. Oh, and one fought to establish this nation; the other rebelled against it in the bloodiest continental war in our country’s history. Just semantics though.

Look at this face:

Kate Jackson was the “Smart One”
on Charlie’s Angels
Edit:The face is one of the cartoon dogs–with a long face.
Droopy? Somebody will improve on it.

Lee was an impressive man, but certainly not a Washington.

Also, the American revolution was colonies with no representation or say in their overseeing country’s government demanding to have a say.

The Confederate secession was states that had ratified the constitution of their government and participated in it for decades. Those states even had over-representation in the government given the two senators for every state, the Electoral College, and counting slaves as 3/5 of a person for apportionment. And despite all those advantages and having 9 of the 15 Presidents leading to the Civil War, when they didn’t get what they want decided to rebel and take up arms against their own country.

Mr Dowd, we have some information that is part of the really-stupid-people’s coalition to help your boss.

Dowd: if it’s what you say it is, I love it.

Osama Bin Laden === Rober E Lee

“You cannot be against General Lee and be for General Washington, there literally is no difference between the two men,” the email forwarded by Dowd reads, per the Times.”

I don’t think ‘literally’ means what the lawyer Dowd thinks it means.

If he is smart he’s tearing his stache out, and calling Billing to tack on a couple of gratuitous hours.
Anybody check to see if he’s really related to THAT Ty Cobb?

He’s supposedly a distant relative…

There was a difference: Hillary’s emails.

Wouldn’t be the first time a guy enhanced his image by claiming a relative who waasn’t. Except for hitting a baseball Ty Cobb’s genes might not be the greatest. In the sport itself “baseball IQ” is thought to be completely independent of conventional IQ.

Yes. He is his grandson.

The email also notes that both Washington and Lee owned slaves and argues that both “rebelled against the ruling government.” The email was penned by Jerome Almon, who pushes government conspiracy theories and claims that Islamic terrorists have infiltrated the FBI, according to the Times.

Not so much apples v. oranges but good apples v. poisonous apples.

I’m pretty sure Washington/Lee comparisons won’t be on that doozy of a final exam Mueller’s about to give. Me thinks this lawyer is wasting precious time.

“You’re sticking your nose in my personal email?” he told the Times. “People send me things. I forward them.”

So if Dowd got some crazy, fantastical nonsense about Hillary Clinton running a child sex ring out of a pizza parlor basement he'd see nothing wrong with forwarding it to everyone on his e-mail list? That's so stupid on its face who the hell would even touch it? Oh, wait.......................
