Discussion: NYT Tacks Editor's Note Onto San Bernardino Story Challenged By FBI

fyi - here’s the email I got from the NYT Public Editor’s office this morning after I had written to her on Wednesday kvetching about this story (and noting that the same 2 reporters who wrote the disastrous “Hillary under criminal investigation” story had their hands on this one too:

**"Dear Jim,
Thank you for writing. The public editor just took up this subject in a post to her blog. If it’s of interest, you can find that post here.

Thanks again for writing, and for reading The Times.
Best regards,
Joumana Khatib
Office of the Public EditorThe New York Times"**

Keep the email for Margaret Sullivan, the Times’ public editor, handy. Don’t abuse it with every little issue, but when something is clearly wrong, let her know. She’s pretty responsive.

Can somebody have this correction carved into a giant block of fucking granite and sent to Chuck Todd and Wolf Blitzer? Really getting tired of this.

A few of the commenters here seem to be under the impression that the public media still works for the Public. It does not. Follow the money.

Yup. That’s the first thing I thought of. All these years later, and it’s still Judith Miller’s NY Times. They might as well just rehire her, as editor-in-chief.
