Note that if DeVos gave one iota of a shit about kids in this country she wouldn’t have taken this job in the first place or bought her way into it with no public education experience other than discussing ways to dismantle it.

I think it’s kind of fascinating. This is the difference between trying to govern a very specific constituency (students-teachers-families) and having free rein to be as ideologically pure (and assholish) as you want to be. DeVos knows she will be burned alive by very real people without even a show of resistance by her. Sessions could give a shit about anyone because he answers to no particular constituency. Except maybe the ACLU. Which will also burn him alive, eventually.

You’re just not a REAL Republican unless you’re taking rights away from people: voting rights, bathroom rights, immigration rights, privacy/reproduction rights, right to insurance and see a doctor, religious rights (the right NOT to be a Christianist), right to assemble and protest, free speech rights.

They just need a little counseling from Milo Y. He has such a good argument for why transgenders are dangerous to “little girls”. Meanwhile, it’s a-okay for him to use the bathroom of the gender to which he is attracted. (It was lovely to see Malcolm Nance ask him if he might be confused about his own sexuality given his twisted logic. On a recent Bill Maher segment, watch it.)

I wasn’t going to bother reading this article but my curiosity got the best of me. I had to see who was the bigger asshole. My hope was DeVos but my money was on Sessions. Well at least I won the money so that nice.

It is in more ways than one.
They’re pushing this in Texas and big bidness is pushing back even harder than they did in South Carolina.
And Texans, at least here in Dallas, don’t like having the government telling them how to deal with their communities. I think most people consider this a local issue and don’t like politicians coming around blowing it up into more than it is.
It appears that Betsy DeVos, or a close friend of hers, has a family member who is transgender.

Don’t be see quick to give her too much credit. She’s already caved when she could’ve just resigned or allowed herself to be fired like Yates. As it stands now, it’s over and she’s complicit in whatever happens as a result of this order being dropped.
