Discussion: NYT: Scott Walker To Drop Out Of 2016 GOP Race

Well the Kochs sure misfired on this one huh?

I suspect that the Koch bros. pulled the plug, not Scottie.

The Kochs are carefully doling out their money in small increments so far. So not a lot was wasted on Walker in the presidential. And they have received more than their share of return for investing in him in WI.

As far as VP options, he isn’t particularly attractive. He makes a pretty tame bulldog, and while he won in Wisconsin 3 times, there were all in off year elections. My guess is sets his sites on the Senate in 2018 against Baldwin.

Not even close. They cut their losses early and still have $900M in the hopper.

Scotty got a phone call telling him his allowance was cut off

Wonder how much $$$$$ it took for the KochBoys to figure this out…

Somewhere Big Eddie Schultz is smiling!

He wasn’t just down in the polls. He was coming in rock bottom. 0.5%. His collapse in the polls is one of the greatest epic fails in a very long time, especially when you consider there was no big controversy causing it…merely the rise of Trump and basic incompetence on the trail.

I figure he came out of the debate and got on the phone saying what an awesome job he did, because by his measuring stick, he probably did. The Kochs heard that after watching the debate and said…“Sorry, the money is all gone”

The pundits have all kinds of theories about why he went down so fast. Its common knowledge he has been bought, and paid for %100 by the Koch Brothers, that’s my theory. People are sick of being sold out.
That’s what Bernie Sanders is all about, and a big part of what Donald Trump is all about.

Seems too sensible to me.

Quit now while there is relatively little attention on Walker and he can blame it on the Trump effect. By the time the country really focuses on the election, most people won’t even remember that he was once a candidate in the primary. Furthermore, there will be no official primary results showing him getting rejected by voters.

He bows out now, says he is needed more in Wisconsin, says the GOP is in good hands with a really strong group of candidates, etc. It is defeat with dignity.

Who gets The Money then?

Rubio?

If that’s the case, then …

The G.O.P. will get fewer Latino votes than ever.

What does it say about the state of the media and Wisconsin politics that this idiot was able to win two elections and survive a recall?

I knew there was a reason I got out of bed today.

Well, to us, it seems like wasted money. To the Kochs, I guess it might seem like losing a $10-bill on a walk through the park.

I suspect Paul goes before Christie…but not by much.

So sorry.

Any word on where Walker is going to throw his .5% supporters?

I was trying to forget about the fiasco of the recall - especially the failure thereof.

I’m taking Ben Carson in the ‘next to drop out’ pool.

Let’s have a fun poll on who we think is next. I would say Jindal.
