The Murdochs are experts at building the black files, ready to use in the future against both friends and enemies.
Bill O’Reilly: This is all liberal BS. Ailes never hit on me in decades I worked with him. At times, I wanted him to but he would never take the hint.
Between the spiraling collapse of Drumpf and Fux News, the only thing missing would be the collapse of the NRA.
Trifecta time, baby…
I wish it was that simple. Even if Faux were to take some mild hit, another one will pop up to replace it. The problem is and will continue to be its supporters/viewers. They will only grow in numbers over time.
When you’ve got a large number of substantial to large settlements of claims for sexual harassment by the CEO, all of which have confidentiality provisions and which your parent company is apparently not aware of, yeah, executives have enabled systemic and systematic violation of state and federal discrimination laws. I suspect the investigation is about “who,” not “whether.”
I can’t help but also notice that Roger the Hutt’s lawyer, Fox News Democrat Susan Estrich, is also a frequent Fox News guest. How the hell she got that past her firm’s risk management committee is beyond me.
Ailes’ “booker” and sex slave had to be the focus of office scuttlebutt…
Probing? Hasn’t there been enough of that at Fox?
This is just so…icky…why wasn’t it exposed (sorry) or something a LONG TIME AGO? Why did it take Gretchen Carlson this long and the others to line up behind her?
They aren’t exactly collapsing but they’ve been weakened more than they acknowledge with their own members disagreeing with them on background checks…
Great Article, Thanks.
Side note, I AM a gun owner, but do not feel the need to have assault weapons or want lily-livered politicians at the beck and call of a extremist group like the NRA.
No, actually the Fox News demographic is dying off. Just too old. Worse, the advertisers can no longer grift as easily, because the marks’ spare money is going to politicians rather than gold or commemorative plates.
Ailes certainly had enough money to pay any number of pros to tickle his nasty fancies. But that’s not the same as the power trip rape of underlings.
Fox News’s supporters and viewers are primarily older revanchist white conservatives. As a percentage of the population, they’re shrinking. So I’m not sure whether their numbers will continue to grow, or whether it will matter if the gross numbers grow as long as the percentage keeps shrinking.
steve, do you think there is any way possible that old rupert didn’t know what was going on? i don’t.
The independent investigation into allegations of sexual harassment by former Fox News boss Roger Ailes
You’ll forgive me if I’m wrong, but wasn’t this reported as an ‘internal investigation’ conducted by Faux News about a month ago in the press? Now we’re supposed to see it as an “independent investigation”? One thing it certainly isn’t, is an investigation conducted from an ‘outside’ independent investigatory body…so let’s quit fooling the readers, shall we?
fear, self-loathing. money. career crash.
screw the trifecta. let’s go all in on the superfecta. toss in the collapse of the republican party as we now know it. teas buried at sea.
I just don’t know. What I do know is that there’s a paper trail, and a paper wall, that makes it plausible for them to say he didn’t, and from the standpoint of Twenty First Century Fox Corporation, that is effectively the same thing as him actually not knowing. It has exactly the same consequences for Fox News and its executives either way, unless one of them has an “insurance file” in a safety deposit box or a lawyer’s safe somewhere. But those executives are likely going to be more interested using it to protect their golden parachutes than staying on if Rupe’s sons demand their heads.
I never knew the Catholic Church worked at Fox Not The News. How come he wasn’t just transferred to another network? It is changing tactics?
