Discussion: NYT: Democrats To Push For Vote On Release Of Their Rebuttal Memo Monday

Maybe.

I pay attention to Clapper due to his history and comments. Clapper IIRC is basically the first person to plainly state Trump is a Russian Asset. If there is one person who is able to put weight behind that comment, Clapper is the guy.

Since Donny seems to react to the world around him as it goes by, that is what made me wonder. Why Clapper today, Donny has a few more immediate targets to be derisive about in the last few days.

They probably said something about him on Faux and Fiends . Any Faux watchers out there?

A great response from Matthew Yglesias concerning Clapper, et al, being called out by Emperor Napolean BoneSpurs:

There’s attention on Trump’s slam on Rep. Schiff but for context we should explain the people he’s being compared to.

Let’s start with James Clapper who entered the Air Force in 1963 when Corporal Bone Spurs was in high school at the New York Military Academy.

Okay, quit writing simultaneously what I am writing. It is getting eerie. :sunglasses:

When Clapper calls someone a Russian Asset, it snaps my head around. Made comment back some time ago, for him to do that was a huge step for him. He did not fling that as rhetoric. Those old USAFSS guys do not use words arbitrarily.

I remember when it was fished out of Stockholms SjƶgƄrd.

A tragic story — which is a lot more than can be said about Nunes and Trump.

Was wondering the same. If so, why did he become topical again.

I believe Steve Doocy was screaming about how Trump’s collusion with Russia could not possibly compare with Michelle Obama’s seditious bare arms. Brown elbows against America, people!

Similar to this Confederate Ironclad Ship I saw a while killing time on a business trip to Kinston NC. I’m guessing the Swedes at least aren’t making a monument to a failed ship used in a failed war against treating people fairly. Along with the statues to Confederate war heroes, such a pathetic lack of being able to let go of and admit being wrong.

Oh sure…Let’s see how ā€˜transparent’ the Cons want to be NOW.

I will get the Windex for them. It looks like there is a smear on their windshield.

I want this because I think it will make good messaging. Refusing to release the rebuttal shows how lawless the congressional GOP is, and conspiring (ahem) in that refusal makes it clear that trump is a sniveling coward.

I’d also suggest that it fits into a certain style of conducting politics that the institutional Dems seem committed to, and therefore should be allowed to proceed with, lest they have nothing. They often act as if they’re worried about getting the A on the term paper and the class presentation. But in so doing, on the up side, they provide ammunition for their more adept supporters, some of whom might be able to speak effectively.

The memo gag came ponderously down the pike for nearly 2 weeks, honking and blaring. The natural move was to use that time to smear Page from pillar to post — an easy task based on completely public info — so that the memo landed in a pool of well-churned dreck. Instead, the Dems chose to play memo v. memo, besting their opponents by nearly 3 times in length, more if we count Nadler.

The tortoise may or may not be catching up with Achilles, but we have to let it take the next step.

Absolutely, why dignify the Nunes memo with a response, Faux won’t report it and the rest of us know how bogus the Nunes memo is. Let’s hold out for the Mueller investigation to wrap up and the indictments to come down.

In a way this is the Democrat’s problem–their memo is 10 pages long. It has footnotes and lots of facts. The fact-based community values this. But the Dem’s inability to craft brief, easily repeatable talking points means they are always struggling in the messaging wars.

This won’t be about whether the dems (we) get our memo releases as much as whether the narrative can be driven by us and reported on by the mainstream media.

If you think Trump is going to approve disclosure of the Dems’ memo, then you need to re-up your meds. And on the very very slim chance he does, his team of liars will think they’re super clever by redacting facts that disprove Nunes’ Clown Memo.

Isn’t there just a hint at resemblance–if not in image, in underhanded methods, nefarious intentions, lies, innuendo, culpability…(?) A ā€œfather and sonā€ sort of way!

Trump will claim he cannot release the Dem Memo as long as his tax returns are under audit.
