Discussion: NY Times Publishes Old Trump Interviews: ‘Most People Aren’t Worthy Of Respect’

Yeah and the GOP has been banking on it for years and this is what it gets them - the quarter of the population that is less than average in intelligence. They courted 'em, they didn’t make any attempts to control them and the rest of the population is finally wise to the whole thing.

Not “most people”; just Trump supporters.

That would be more in character.

From the piece in the NYT:

He recalled the feeling of walking into a giant room and watching as the crowd surrounded him, as if he were a magnet attracting everything around him.

Mr. D’Antonio asked him when that first started. “Long time ago,” Mr. Trump replied. “It’s always been that way.”

Did it ever unnerve him, the author wondered.

“No,” Mr. Trump said. “I think what would unnerve me is if it didn’t happen.”

Trump got a taste of being ignored at the Catholic Charities dinner, even as people were flocking to Clinton. That had to have unnerved him.

Let’s hope so. It’s about time he was good and unnerved.

He may have worn out his welcome there. They would not exactly have told us.

Let’s make a list of the people who aren’t worthy of respect - #1 Donald J. Trump.

The words of a truly unfeeling person. Every human being has dignity regardless of their “status” in the world and they deserve respect. I refer Trump to the sermon on the Mount and the words of Jesus. If he can get past the “two Corinthians” that is.

Seriously. I already know the bit about his lips moving but we now have a lot of data. Maybe I should have phrased it the other way. What’s the tell when he is telling the truth?

I still think you’re swell.

So this story has a happy ending?

I hope you’re right - I do so love a happy ending to a horror story!

I’ll have to go with the traditional ‘when his lips are moving’.

we could use a tell for when he is telling the truth, just saying…

Well, in order to answer that you will have to provide examples of verified truth-telling by the great orange Satan (sorry, Kos!)

I’ll just be over here waiting…but not holding my breath.
