Actually, I think it does, certainly if more and more of these stories come to light. Even for some Fox viewers it’s gotta be an icky feeling watching your favorite news show and wondering what the host was forced to endure to keep her job. Plus, they’re the “family values” news network, and I don’t think it helps.

It’s like when Fred Thompson was running (sleepwalking?) for Prez in '08, and you saw all these Republican women and man-crushing (“can’t you just smell the cigars and Aqua Velva on this guy?”) Tweety on MSNBC screaming about how “sexy” and 'manly " he was and, as a gay man, all I could think of was, “Fuck, if woke up next to him one morning, I’d go in the bathroom and commit ritual suicide.”

OK, the knives are out at Fox’s parent.
Clearly, someone inside 21st Century Fox, where the Murdoch boys live, is leaking like a sieve to give Ailes the shiv.
Ailes contract is up this year, and there have been past reports that the Murdoch boys wanted him out last time he was up, but Rupert stuck by his old friend. It seems the boys will not be out maneuvered this time.
Stick a fork in him, he’s done. But this latest leak suggest Ailes doesn’t know it yet. I can’t imagine Ailes will resign in the middle of the GOP convention but the DNC convention is a real possibility.
I don’t see Ailes surviving past August at the latest?
BTW, this couldn’t happen to a nicer guy. How many lives has he ruined by baseless smears, rumors and innuendo for no other reason than those people disagreed with him?

There’s a real and ugly dynamic at work here. Harassers like Ailes can perceive plain women as colleagues, or at least as subordinates. But attractive women are just objects to them and the smarter and/or more accomplished they are, the stronger the need to objectify, dominate and humiliate them becomes. If they’re attractive and dumb, they are disposable. Attractive and smart, they’re trophies they want to keep around.

I have never missed Joe McGinniss like I miss him now. He’s the guy best known for Fatal Vision and last known for being Sarah Palin’s neighbor and making Todd build that wall, but after writing The Selling of the President 1968 he stayed friends with Roger Ailes the rest of his life. In fact both Andrew Sullivan and Roger Ailes spoke at his funeral.
Ailes denies everything and offers up these totally legit and untouched photos to prove Kelly was his willing snuggle bunny:
