This opening broadside does not seem well thought out.
Great, create a platform of issues, but Nixon is basically telling the huge number of NY Democrats that the reasonably popular and successful governor they’ve elected and reelected is a Republican, and that they’ve been too dumb to notice. That won’t get her much traction with voters.

Cuomo’s allies came to his defense, with labor leader Hector Figueroa saying the election will come down to who can best serve New Yorkers, “not who can seize the most headlines by waging personal attacks against another candidate.”
He must have also slept through the last presidential election…
