Discussion: Nunes: 'No Evidence Of Collusion' Between Trump Campaign And Russia

A bit O/T but take a look at this chilling threat against anyone who might step forward with information regarding collusion:

Comey gave separate briefings to the House and to the Senate committee members. The House didn’t go into the Cone of Silence, so the Senate hearings are where the real action is going to be.

Nunes should recuse himself, the asshole. But at least Schiff isn’t sitting around silently letting him set the stage.

How would you know? You’ve been dragging your feet about any investigation. Try connecting the dots.
I won’t hold my breath.

Nunes doesn’t know only in the sense that he hasn’t been told, which is because … well …

Yea I just said that.

Despite Schiff’s saying there’s circumstantial evidence of collusion, which is undeniable given what we in the public already know, I imagine rabid partisans such as Nunes and most of the others could feel comfortable saying there’s no evidence and mean no direct, irrefutable evidence. But I also imagine they would straight-up lie in any forum where that’s not illegal and also likely to come to light. We’re at a place now where 99.99 percent of prominent GOP people would see talking to the media as a thing you do to advance the party’s goals, not to inform the public, and lying is part of the program.

The more Nunes obstructs, the more suspicious we all get. Nunes knows damned well the truth will come out eventually – his actions clearly are meant to stall and obfuscate while they push through the most radical right wing agenda this country has ever seen. His behavior is so transparent – and points to the obvious conclusion that he knows damned well there was collusion – he himself may even be involved in the activity – and surely is involved in a cover up. If he believed in Trump’s innocence he would be eager to clear his name.

Interesting note on Ms. Cribb.

You one upped me totally by posting the link.

I don’t care cause it’s important.

I somehow missed that Comey came to the Hill to brief select members of both chambers. Nunes is doing a PeePee - claim in advance that there is nothing to see, no truth to any negative conjectures. Same as he did with the CBO before they scored his dreadful budget and what he and his meat puppet Lil Spice do with “fake news”.

Since Nunes says there’s no evidence, it would seem that there is a mountain of evidence.

Very possible. That way he can keep excusing for doing little and thereby shielding Trump. Meanwhile the FBI/IC might have withheld critical information from him as well – that would be like draining the water through the colander straight down to the sink of the White House.

I would put it this way. Schiff is correct. Nunes is a liar by hard evidence and circumstantially appears to be a traitor.

Why is this guy so particularly hellbent on preventing what may be treasonous activity from coming to light? Is it as simple as blind partisanship or worry he will be punished politically if he doesn’t circle the wagons with the reset of the GOP enablers? Or is he more deeply involved in possible crimes as part of Trump;s transition team? I really don’t know that much about this joker – he wasn’t on my radar at all until he positioned himself as the defender of Trump. Anyone here seen any good articles referencing Nunes’ role, not only in the Trump campaign and transition, but any dealings with Trump prior to his candidacy?

I wish I could say that there is “no evidence” of collusion between the White House and Nunes on coordinating a response about Russia allegations. This is only true in the sense that the White House made no secret of giving marching orders to Nunes; in that sense, there was no collusion, which needs to be hidden.
Come to think of it, could this be Nunes’ out? It was so obvious that it wasn’t collusion? When Trump publicly asked Russia to hack Hillary, e.g.

I was too busy congratulating myself for successfully copying a link on my phone (definitely at the outer reaches of my technical capabilities … some day I hope to figure out the “conference” button on my phone) to notice you got there first.

No one-upping intended … or, in your case, possible.

Because the GOP is not in power legitimately. If the election wasn’t a free and fair election, their wins aren’t free and fair.
