I was in Mexico for an extended stay when Nixon resigned. The only source of news I had was the local Guadalajara newspaper and my Spanish is OK but not fluent enough for the fine points. The headline translated (near as I could figure it) to “Nixon Crumbles”. It took two more days to figure out he’d resigned.

At the risk of stating the obvious, he is not a journalist. “I will never reveal sources” is something that a journalist says, as a gesture to constitutional guarantees of freedom of the press. But Nuñes is not only not a journalist, he is chair of the House Intelligence Committee, and as such can mark information and its sources as being “classified” and doesn’t need to guarantee sources anonymity. In particular, there is no conceivable reason to hide sources from other members of the committee.

All of Nunes’ degrees are in agriculture. Probably only took Pol-Sci 101. He remembered waking up in class one day and hearing “no revealing of sources.”

What angers me about Ryan… his dad died young…when Paulie was 16. He survived on Social Security. That program saw him thru college too. Now he has Medicare, medicaid and SS bore sighted for elimination or at the least severe damage. They are why he got into politics.

They didn’t “survive” on Social Security. His mother was left with enough money, so she put Paulie’s SS checks in a savings account she turned over to him when he turned 18. Paulie was able to use the money to pay college tuition, and to be able to claim that he “put himself through college.”

He benefitted, but not in the way that many impoverished widows and children do. I think he hates Medicare and SS because he is an Alissa Rosenbaum true believer.
