Discussion: North Carolina Paper Corrects Letter Calling Obama The 'Antichrist'

Discussion for article #233292

I was glad to see this. A sophisticated, advanced society has to set and maintain high standards for itself if it wants to hold its position in the world.

They corrected it from calling him the Antichrist to Satan Incarnate, right?

Calling Obama the Anti-Christ is sooo 2008.

Come up with something new, people!

The ‘Antichrist’? Seven Kings? WTF are these goobers talking about? This kind of bullshit is being pimped by those who think Israel will be available when it comes time for the rapture. Look for Netanyahu to give a big shout-out next month to the good folks of Lexington North Carolina…

Well I don’t think much of the Lexington Dispatch either.

So does this mean Hillary will be the AntiChrist?

Because that’s cool as hell!

Everybody knows it was Jesus’s older brother who was the ante Christ.

Stories like that remind me of the unending BS that Obama has had to put up with from the dimwitted opposition. Sort of makes him more sympathetic. I’m looking forward to President Hillary.

North Carolina isn’t a sophisticated, advanced society.

I sure am glad we got that straightened out. The editorial staff can all pat themselves on the back.

And they published the letter why exactly? I suppose the spittle-flecked rantings of any demented loon who can peck out this blather helps keep the circulation numbers up.

Jesus H. Bald-headed Keerist!

FURTHER CORRECTION:

Boyd Thomas does not believe President Obama is either the Antichrist or any kind of a king but just Uppity.

“Is Obama the seventh king?”
No.

Hey, don’t blame us here in NC, blame TPM for desperately attempting to find a story, any story. The Lexington Dispatch? That’s like quoting the Amityville Record on Long Island and calling it a NY paper.

I think GWB would be more fitting as the Antichrist…

I’d rather remember George BUSH as the Worst. President. Ever. It’s eight years that were some of the most painful that we’ve experienced in a while.

And in 2016, may that be what the majority of Americans remember, too.

Newspapers publish letters that reflect the views of their readers. To do otherwise is to risk losing readership. The Lexington Dispatch obviously thinks that not only are many of its readers anticipating the Apocalypse, their hatred of black people runs so deep that they think Obama, whose policies are no different than those of Bush, is evil incarnate. As a kid I saw segregated drinking fountains and rest rooms in Delaware and Virginia which were unheard of in NJ where I grew up. Apparently nothing has changed. The mind of the white southerner is stone cold white racist. I doubt that it will ever change.
