Discussion: Nixon Calls For 'Tolerance, Respect And Restraint' After Grand Jury News

Discussion for article #230529

Schools cancelled tomorrow. St. Louis galleria closed at 6 tonight with shoppers told to go directly home. Wonder what the verdict is?

Over and over again he made the claim they don’t know what the announcement will be, but hey protestors don’t be violent. It just felt like they were lying.

NO appeal for police non-violence. Maliciously hinted that protestors were responsible for the Halloween elec. outage. Never once mentioned the death of young Michael Brown the beginning of this chapter of the American progress. Nixon stumbled over sloppy non-answers to obvious questions he knew were coming.
Nixon has not gained any stature during this 3 months, professionally as a political leader or morally as a human being.

“Tolerance, respect and restraint”.

Right…like the respect you showed the Brown family today by not telling them in advance the decision would come out? By letting them find out via cable news outlet?

Tolerance…like the tolerance your law enforcement officers have shown by tear gassing and arresting people in their own yards and homes? By arresting clergy people and assaulting them like you did over the weekend? By continuing to support and consort with the likes of Jeff Roorda, a man fired by his own police department for falsifying police records involving police assaults and violent interactions?

Restraint…like the tanks, armored vehicles and helicopters you’ve had assembling in Ferguson for over a week? Like the 1,000 law enforcement members you’ve been calling to the area for almost a month? Like the National Guard you called in?

If anyone needs to learn a serious lesson in respect, tolerance and restraint Governor, it’s you. Anything and everything that happens after that decision is announced…is on YOU.

Shorter Nixon: “The fix is in. Accept it, and send gifts to Darren Wilson’s wedding registry, else be branded as a racist heretic.”

Wouldn’t it be funny if Nixon threw a riot and nobody came. Stay home people. Don’t give the Nixon goons a reason to shoot.

I do not listen to anonymous opinions and I think protestors who wear masks are cowards. If you believe in something so strongly that you need to express it, be a man and put your name or face to it. Stand up for what you believe in, don’t hide. Or go home and pretend you’re making a difference 'cos you aren’t really.

Mr. DRP:

1 / Does your strongly held opinion apply to gas masks needed by peaceful protestors because of militaristic and cowardly overreach by local cops?

2 / It seems that your opinion expressed here is anonymous. Thank you for sharing your POV that it, too, is not worth listening to.

It’s as simple as this-no justice, no peace.

He messed up by not appointing an unbiased prosecutor. I hope he sleeps well tonight, trash gov.

Stand up for what you are saying. I’ll say this. Unless you are black, and male, nobody cares what you are saying.

What is it about the name “Nixon?”
