It feels like his window is closing. We do not know what Pence’s entanglements have been as he has not been a focus. If this was an idea, he went too long with it. The House will likely not be looking only at Trump. The opportunity to have the status and armor to try to control things has been royally missed. And Pence may have baggage hanging over his head to keep him in check.
