“This has been a closely contested race from the beginning and we look forward to results being announced by the Secretary of State, and ensuring that every vote is counted in this race has received an historic level of interest,” she said.
Q: How do you know when a Republican is behind in an election?
A: When she wants every vote to be counted.
But with Trump pulling out a decisive win in the presidential race…
But with Trump pulling out a decisive electoral vote win… FIFY
None of this matters. The Democrats in the Senate and the House will have absolutely no influence for the foreseeable future. They’ll only have front row seats to view the end of the Republic.
Great news for a solid candidate.
A Hassan win would mean that the GOP has only a 50/50 split in the Senate, forcing Pence to be a tie-breaker.
It would also make it harder for the GOP to override a filibuster by the Dems.
Nope. The Republicans already have 51 without this seat. They’ll end up with 52 after the dust settles in Louisiana. The Democrats’ net gain (if Hassan’s win prevails) is only two seats.
I’m tired, but I don’t think that’s right. I believe we had a net gain of 2. We needed net 5, or net 4 if Kaine were VP. So they don’t need Pence.
This, and Pat McCrory going down helps the sting if today a bit…
Dark but possibly accurate, and he will probably take the world down with us. Hate to be Kelly Ann trying to talk him out of nuking Iran on account of those guys giving our guys the finger last spring.
Just another Spineless Ineffectual whose existence will be 100% ignored by the GOP majority and the MSM,
Yes. Little solace. But at least midterms in two years should allow us to win the three seats we need for majority.
When two things share the same corporate owners are they really two different things?
Also note it seems NH is happy to be represented by women, completly, in Washington DC.
They will call for HRC here also.
Cold comfort, I know.
I’ll take any victory today that we can salvage.
The Repubs are defending 8 Senate seats in 2018.
The Dems are defending 25.
We have a lot of very hard work to do—depending on how much help we get from Trump and the Senate GOP.
McConnell has already announced that the Senate will have a vote to repeal the ACA right after the inauguration.
Let’s find out
So Schumer rolls over or is the filibuster killed that soon?
Edit: suppose ‘both’ is a possible answer
Indeed…the doctrine of corporate merger might apply. But enough of law and philosophy. They will not birth me the revenge I seek.
I think it will likely be reconciliation in this instance.
