Oh, come now, people. The Gray Lady, the reportorial home of our missing weapons of mass destruction, has known how to use the word “gay” for, um, years now. “Homosexual” is so 2013. I do believe the newspaper is currently researching whether it is safe to declare slavery “needless.” And I’ve heard rumors that, once that kerfuffle is settled, they are seriously thinking of reporting that Mitt Romney mis-spoke once during the Presidential campaign.
With the new york times teaching us every day just how conservative a respectable liberal position is, we are all safe from those folks to the left of the “moderately middle mild people.” You know, the folks who are concerned that climate change might be real, and who are busily investigating how to respond to it without hurting the markets. I’ve heard the MMMP are considering a commission.

If you buy his claim that he didn’t know what these people are up to, there’s a bridge in Brooklyn I’d like to sell you.
No one agrees to participate on a panel without knowing who the other featured speakers are - even if one speaks only at a local or state conference, you do the homework (and the organizers send you the names and bios of the others). His explanation is not believable.
