Discussion: New York Times Columnist Lifts Fake Quotes About Kim Kardashian's Butt

Discussion for article #230500

No ifs ands or butts about it, suddenly everyone wants a bodacious booty, and companies like Booty Pop padded butt enhancers promise to help them achieve the perfect bubble butt. Hate to bust their bubble but Old school Frederick’s of Hollywood beat Body Pop to the padded revolution over 65 years ago, providing the curve challenged miss an entire wardrobe of padding perfection from bust to bottom. Check out some vintage booty boosters.http://wp.me/p2qifI-2xj

I saw this article in the NY Times and was fucking enraged. It’s not the fucking Post. The article was not cheeky, even if this TPM blurb makes it sound like the correction was. It was presented as if it were a real story, as if this were really news they felt was within their bailiwick. If this is what they’re doing to boost sales, I’ll be cancelling my subscription very soon. The overall quality has been in decline for some time now anyways.

Sincerely, Grumpy Old Man

Could we stop labeling sites like “The Daily Currant” as “satirical”? They don’t rise to that level.

I cannot lie, you know the article is a complete fraud when they talk about big butts and don’t even reference Sir Mix-A-Lot. oh how the “mighty” have fallen, NYT!

IMHO her ass is big enough to hold all five new york city
boroughs. Who in the hell would find her or any of her vapid,
no talent bimbo siblings anything but a freak show that P.T.
Barnum would be proud of?

The WaPo is fact checking SNL’s skit on Obama. Thanks WaPo! By fact checking satire, you have now made Progressivism the establishment and it has ceased to be hip! It’s like an early Christmas Gift! In case you missed it, that and GamerGate are like Gettysburg and Vicksburg. Get ready Progressives, General Sherman is coming! With Ted Cruz reprising the role of General Sherman!

My Facebook news feed isn’t scientific or anything of course, but it seems like more people post Daily Currant articles unironically than any other satire/fake news site, under the impression they’re real. I’m not sure why, but I guess because their headlines tend to be more subtle than the Onion and look like actual news headlines, and people who do this tend to post the types of articles they wish were true.

The problem with satire is that when it’s too accurate, it sounds too real haha. That quote sounds just like something Kanye, in all of his befuddled narcissistic glory, would actually say about his own ass.

Yeah, kinda with you. Except for your unforgivable use of the word “cheeky” in this context.
