Now, there are toads like this up and down the east coast. It’s just that Jersey is unfortunately famous for them. As a Pennsylvanian I could point out the toad-intensive counties on my own side of the river. But I’d rather point out the cool stuff about Jersey—Princeton, and Island Beach State Park, and the mountainous or at least hilly parts with trout streams in the northwestern bit. The Jersey most people think they know from a lifetime of screen-watching, and even the Jersey people who live near it think they know, is not all there is.

It continues to amaze me that so many politicians of a certain party have remarkably short tempers and lash out with violent and threatening rants at the slightest provocation. One must wonder if short temper corresponds to short fingers.

Two kinds! “Low” and “none.” I really thought they had hit bottom, but they just keep digging. VOTE BLUE in November; throw the (mostly Republican) rascals out. The same applies to members of the Democratic Party who exhibit this kind of troglodytic behavior, but so far, I haven’t seen any. Scam artists and thieves? Of course, that’s apparently some people’s idea of a job in politics, but the sexism, hatred and bigotry? That’s all on the other side. Prove me wrong, I dare you.

I’m sure Twitter will be able to clear this up.
The Republicans have an actual habit of nominating and putting up for election extreme haters-- stalkers, threateners, abusers. You’d think the local party would spend ten minutes checking the Facebook and twitter accounts of potential candidates. Or just, you know, ask around town. “Is this guy crazy? A slug? A hater?”

But of course, when a party goes for salivating monsters, that’s what they get.
