I think the ad was just okay. It could have been a lot better IMGO
I’m afraid Obama has not been good about defending people in his administration who have done nothing wrong. Shirley Sherrod ring a bell?
I agree he’s had to walk a difficult line, but it certainly would piss me off when it was MY reputation on the line if I were hung out to dry with the excuse, “It’s just politics.”
The core message and point is Clinton would not use the loss of Stevens and the three men working on our behalf in a dangerous place… as a means to carry out a political, partisan, witch-hunt no matter which party sought to do so. That is the right thing to say and do. It is not a back-hand to the POTUS or mis-framing the point which is what you, and you alone it seems, want to cast this as.
It should also be running on ABC, NBC, and CBS too.
I think you must have misunderstood what she said. There was no backhand at Obama
She is excellent when she is on the offensive. I saw the interview. She was great. I wish we could see more of this from her.
A, that wasn’t in the ad; and B, she was responding to a “what if the shoe were on the other foot” question about the GOP “investigation.” I kept wondering why she said that in exactly that way until I saw the segment on the “Today” website.
Colbert did just that on Friday. First segment of the show, I believe; you can see it free on the website until this Friday, or maybe forever if somebody put it on YouTube. Still brilliant, still political – hallelujah.
