In the CIA’s announcement, Haspel’s career was lauded by veteran intelligence officials, including former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, who recently retired.
And here I was just starting to like Clapper.
Who will be the first nation to levy sanctions against the US for employing interrogation techniques that violate the Geneva Convention?
Is she a beautiful redhead or blonde? Just asking because that would make it acceptable.
Trump, who has pushed for tougher interrogation techniques, said he would consult with Pompeo and Defense Secretary Jim Mattis before authorizing any new policy. But he said he had asked top intelligence officials: "Does torture work? And the answer was ‘Yes, absolutely.’ "
donny says: “Very, very, very, very, many, many people have told me torture works. It works unbelievable well. Incredibly well. It’s going to be yoooge. We’ll make it more legal than we’re going to make it legal. Just like we’re going to cut taxes more than we’re going to cut them.”
“Unbelievable” and “incredible” - two of his favorite/four-that-he-knows adjectives. And he doesn’t know what they actually mean. He uses them to mean “good”. Those of us with more language experience than a two-year-old can then laugh when their use makes him sound like he’s saying the opposite of what he thinks (in his rat-sized brain) he is saying.
