Discussion: 'Never Said I Didn't': Abe Is Tight-Lipped On Trump Nobel Prize Nomination Claim

Wasn’t that the Romneywraith? Maybe Abe too.

Lots and lots of people get nominated of the Nobel Peace Prize. The campaigning and politics of winning it are pretty hard core. The distance between a nomination and winning is a long one.

I have a relative who was nominated every year for decades. It doesn’t mean much.

Dunno, I had it in mind that it happened at Mar-a-Barfo (where the kitchen knows to send out two for El Jefe, oops, Spankee) and don’t recall Romney ever having been there. But I may be wrong.

I do remember that it was during Abe’s visit where he was talking state business at the table and making phone calls from the dining room with all of the oglers sitting around within hearing distance, playing the role. That was a bit of major gaffe too…

One of the things I’ve learned to unlearn is the belief that people will reject in politicians the sorts of obvious warning behaviors we learned to spot in our playground years. This kind of extreme neediness is something we’ve all seen in people we know, and you learn it can never be assuaged. You meet people who fish for compliments about literally everything they do. And Trump is like 20 times worse than the worst person you’ve ever actually met that way, it’s literally a serious disease, and yet. And yet. He’s bugging world leaders to nominate him for giving Kim a huge reward for nothing, and for if anything destabilizing the region further. There’s no greater threat to peace today than the person of Donald J. Trump. But he goes and does this. SMH.

Actually, i was referring to the Dotard. He is such a dumb-fuck that his survival instincts have just got to betray him. Can’t happen soon enough.

That he was nominated Trump can now claim it was rigged after he doesn’t get awarded the Prize but deserved it.
It’s like the wall - give him a mile and he’ll scream we need to complete it.

Wasn’t he already nominated for the 2019 Peace Prize when some GOP congressman nominated him last May which was too late for consideration for the 2018 Prize?

If Abe fell for The Puppet he can’t be very bright.

Do not misunderestimate Trumpski’s boss.

Oh, sadly, Dotard doesn’t qualify for the Darwin rule, because he has procreated (unfortunately setting 3 foul miscreants loose in the world, with a possible fourth yet to be determined). And, if you read the list carefully, there’s a good chance he doesn’t qualify on at least a couple of the others (“capable of sound judgment”), plus, unfortunately for us, he hasn’t offed himself yet.
So how are the Darwin Awards actually determined?

Nominees significantly improve the gene pool by eliminating themselves from the human race in an obviously stupid way. They are self-selected examples of the dangers inherent in a lack of common sense, and all human races, cultures, and socioeconomic groups are eligible to compete. Actual winners must meet the following criteria:

Reproduction

  • Out of the gene pool: dead or sterile.
    Excellence
  • Astounding misapplication of judgment.
    Self-Selection
  • Cause one’s own demise.
    Maturity
  • Capable of sound judgment.
    Veracity
  • The event must be true.
Yes but I’ll bet Putin’s hackers are working overtime to get some dirt on the selection committee members. Why not?
It’s the new asymmetrical warfare formerly call blackmail.

Happy President’s Day to you too.

Abe was bribed or threatened by Trump.
And he went along with it.
Amazing.

What will Trump say and do when he does not get the nomination and is called a loser by the whole world.

Of course he knows (I don’t think Abe is generally thought stupid even by his adversaries).
He knows Trump can be influenced by bribes or flattery. There are probably (even at the level of international politics) laws in Japan against the former one.

It smacks of KGB/GRU operations. Maybe Abe privately told Cheetolini he would write a letter. Maybe he did write, or maybe he lied to Trump. He would feel safe because the committee keeps these things secret. But by publicizing, he has Abe in a box.

Has Orange Hitler learned from his master? Or was this behavior suggested to him by others?

Perhaps Abe thought this would be an easy and painless way to curry favor with the big orange baby, who thrives on false flattery. Certainly Abe knew the Nobel Committee would instantly trash-can the nomination, and he would have scored points with trump to cash in later.

However, he should have known the asshole would brag about it and embarrass Japan.

BTW, anyone can submit a nomination for the Nobel Peace Prize. Rush Limbaugh once nominated himself.

But Abe might not be PM for long, then…

From Australia to Asia to Europe (especially Europe), a globe full of Mike Pompeos and Chris Christies: pedantic cowards on a planetwide scale.

I had to scoff at something I saw on the wire: “After Imbecile-1, the European relationship will never be same.” If anything, the breaktaking weakness of European leaders has been on full display for over two years, and the notion that they will actually do anything but kowtow to America is laughable. I would hope that government officials in those countries would keep any GOPer far, far away because they’ve gleefully help damage everything. But even that’s unlikely to happen because they’re all fearful of the US.

Otherwise, I’m fairly indifferent to this topic.

he has Abe in a box.

A nice, cute Japanese Bento box. Man, how I would love to see a cartoon depicting that.
