Exactly.

This isn’t some grand showing of solidarity among respectable journalists! This is trying to save face after Trump conned them! He set up a huge conference, wouldn’t tell them what it was saying “he didn’t want to spoil the suspense”(or something to that effect), he was 40 minutes late and the press just kept filming, then he had a bunch of vets come praise him for a while, and then blamed HRC for his birtherism! He also never apologized!

Then he used the whole debacle to promote his hotel!

Honestly, this guy is a moron when it comes to anything else, and he’s a despicable human being, but when it comes to playing the 24/7 news media? Genius.

Doesn’t HO have a history of limiting and/or manipulating media coverage of his campaign when he holds conferences or events at his properties?

This just plays to his ditching the media to go to mexico and not waiting for them in NH yesterday. Im all for the media starting to call him AND HIS FAMILY on their bullshit.

OMG…I thought of that same weird connection months ago. The outrageous showmanship angle was too good to overlook. The main difference however is that Liberace actually had some real chops playing the piano and some real talent. Trump is more like a carnival barker, knows how to manipulate the media mainly by running his mouth and having them buy into his bullshit.

The amazing thing is he’s done this plenty of times. He was in Scotland on the day after the Brexit vote, and the cable news channels all covered his comments which were almost exclusively about his wonderful golf course and resort.

Now he did it again with his new hotel, and they got nailed again.
