Correct. I subscribe to both services and I will be paying Verizon twice. I decided weeks ago to cancel my Netflix streaming and move to all DVD’s, as I could only get SD quality video even though I pay for 50MB/sec download speeds from Verizon. I have no playback issues with any other service, including HBOGo, etc.
In March, Netflix’s video streamed at an average of 2.5 megabits per second, a 66 percent increase from January.

These speeds don’t make sense (and they’re the increased speeds). Standard DVD is 10 Mbits / sec.
I had streaming when they offered it with discs at the same price. I dropped it when they split because at the time they still didn’t offer closed captioning of their streams. Plus a lot of the movies I’m interested in are only available in their DVD library. And with some of the waits on popular new releases it’s easier to get it from RedBox…
