Has the whole General Assembly turned into a pack of liars and strong arm crooks?
First we attract major corporations and employers by offering them tax breaks and incentives and those businesses that otherwise wouldnât come do but only for the tax breaks.
Then, we insult them, threaten them and hint that we will take back the incentives if they donât fall in line with our third world politics and views.
Next, these companies have the temerity to tell us to jam our religious hooey and discrimination and halt all growth and expansion in our state so we have to offer them further incentives or lose them altogether, which both would severely damage our state btw, and now the cat is out of the bag-again so the Feds, the everyone but religious nutbags and the DOJ are on our ass for being too dumb to live. Weâre thinking-a pretty good plan so far and weâve gotten to blame the nations highest ranking blacks, so winning kind of.
Wait, what was our mission again? Oh yeah, legislating pee pees and expecting others to give two fucks because paranoid and Jeebus.

Between losing Federal education funding and major companies reducing hiring, NC is going to be stuck between a rock and hard place. And they can forget about attracting international companies looking to relocate to a state that offers a highly educated work force.

The insulting of our intelligence is what really irks me. It boils my blood. Not only are they bigots, they are unbelievable cowards too. I will never give a racist, bigoted, homophobic a-hole any sort of respect, but, at least, they should show the courage of their convictions. Own it! They should stand up proudly and show the country what hateful, petty, small people, who clearly subscribe to fascism, they are.
I think it already has been, which is why Team White Fright has gone fucking nuts and has been legislating voter suppression and other bullshit âcorrectiveâ measures like crazy in NC.
Well given the historic pattern of businesses rewarding Republican legislators who do stuff they plead with them not to doâlike, say, provoking debt ceiling hostage crisesâwith still larger campaign contributions next cycle, you canât really blame the legislators for thinking they can do this.

North Carolina Republican lawmakers have been threatening lobbyists with retribution if the businesses they represent speak out against the stateâs new controversial anti-LGBT law, according to a report from Raleigh television station WRAL.
I must say that I hope businesses are taking this in â Republicans are NOT your friends, folks. Todayâs GOP is the Party of Neo-Religio-Fascists. Do not support them. Fight them. Get as far away from them as possible.
Just to put an exclamation point on the dumb, NC legislators were either to ignorant to see the backlash coming or to dumb to realize that it has?
It is no surprise that dumb people do dumb stuff, in fact, we should expect it especially considering that they have divine guidance that pushes them beyond their ability to react.
