I think that the military needs a war every 4-5 years so that they can order new equipment and test the equipment they bought in a real-life situation.
I understand that Presidents Trump and Putin have a deal to dismantle NATO. That should release some funds for some military adventures by both the US and Russia. I think the two presidents have agreed that taking on China’s nuclear capabilities and economic clout is a way to establish mutual trust.
Going to war against Iran is a high priority for many evangelical christian groups in the Republican party since Israel considers Iran its main enemy. Iran also has high quality oil. The oil would be of great interest to Rex Tillotson and a wonderful way to test President Trump’s Doctrine of going to war to steal oil and gas, pillaging and torture. I predict that John McCain and Lyndsey Graham are going to love the Iran war idea too. They are going to become Trump fans. There’s going to be a conservative loveliest. Rupert Fox News and the Wall Street Journal would be the official news outlets for the war and the stealing of oil. Trump is going to bring conservatives together.

So, how about SOMEONE asking him about Yemen (where Donald Drumpf’s first military casualty occurred along with the deaths of “women militants” and CHILDREN…but no one is talking about it. Evidently, a la Rumsfeld, they want to see what happens when we have more than one war going at a time.

These guys don’t even try to make sense.
What is the diplomatic meaning of “put on notice”? Does it mean the next time we will consider it an act of war? Does it mean we will retaliate in some other military way short of full-scale conflict? Does it mean sanctions? An angry phone call? What?
There is sometimes a need for some ambiguity in diplomacy, but there are limits. Failure to be clear about issues of war and peace can lead to dangerous miscalculations on both sides of a dispute.

Approx. 35% of the enlisted soldiers in our military are not US citizens - they are green card immigrants.
