This story really makes me sad. Spirit and Opportunity were wonderful successes for the US space program just when NASA needed success. I have followed them ever since.

What a great mission! It is rare to see my tax dollars so perfectly spent. NASA has really pushed human knowledge forward in my lifetime. New exciting missions are coming soon!
