Discussion: Napolitano: Judge In Manafort Case Has Shown 'Extraordinary Bias' Against Gov't

Napolitano is just spouting the talking points that Faux has given him to say.

There’s no way, with what has been publicized, that Nappy’s accusation holds water. If anything, maybe Ellis is making it about himself (as many here have also stated), but extraordinary bias against the government says to me that Nappy’s watching another trial.

And what is Nappy’s experience in the courtroom with these types of cases? I don’t think he’s even on the bench anymore, is he? There must be a reason, if he loves the law, no?

I don’t see it so much as bias against the government but rather just a cranky old man who’s pissed Manafort, Trump, et al., are crapping all over his Republican party. Either way at least the defense won’t be able to claim the court was biased against them.

Napolitano has been one of two lonely voices of sanity at Fox trying, as best he can, to prepare the idiot goobers for the inevitable. Not what he was hired to do, but he just can’t seem to stay in character since Trump won and keeps breaking the fourth wall.

Ellis “banned the word “oligarch” from the courtroom…”

Oh. I thought it was “ostrich.”

“Judge” Napolitano knows about as much about the law as I do about particle physics.

Ellis just wants to be the Judge Judy of the federal bench.

Even if you take this goofball seriously (I don’t), the deplorables won’t remember this when Manafort is inevitably convicted.

nice to to know Judge Metamucil will cause democracy to fall…Dems never have learned to run against the judiciary…only Barbra Streisand talks about it

“You and I were talking during the break, the jury can’t be happy with this judge because of the snide, snarky comments,” he added to Perino.

Yes, this is a most unjudge like judge…almost Roy Moore like.

A true “Master Barrister” if there ever was… :hushed:

Lonelier than a Young Republican trying to pick up the NRA booth hostess at a CPAC convention by dangling tickets to a Morton Downey Jr. Show marathon over at the Heritage Foundation mixer.

He’s a wingnut but he can’t be stupid. He knows how he’s perceived and if Manafort is acquitted he’ll have hell to pay. I imagine he’s sure Manafort goes down so he’s free to be an asshole.

And then there’s Ms. Perino asking him to agree that at least Ellis is entertaining the jurors.

Where’s that meteor I was promised?

If it ends in a hung jury there might be a much better judge for the retrial.

How is a Fox viewer to react to this kind of commentary? I mean … without another, perhaps later-in-the-evening, show host telling them exactly how they should?

Suicide?

If this is the same U.S. District Judge T.S. Ellis III as in the Wikipedia entry below, he was born in Bogotá, Colombia! Shades of U.S. District Judge Gonzalo P. Curiel (born in East Chicago, Indiana)!

Am I crazy or does it seem like half the comments here are misunderstanding Napolitano’s comments…

He IS saying that Ellis is being overly hard on the prosecutors (i.e. in favor of Manafort), right?
