Discussion: Nadler On Mueller Testifying: 'I Do Anticipate That He Will Come'

There yah go…

So now trump throws around “executive privilege” on a report already in the public domain and on anything Mueller might say.

That’s the move of a seriously guilty man

I agree with your that this White House is off the rails nuts, but I think it’s mostly because trump is not capable. Again Flood, Barr, Rosenstein, et al are trying to keep the train on the tracks as trump’s twitter thumbs pull on the derailer.

So, for example, the DOJ is telling trump to assert executive privilege apparently in response to Nadler’s contempt threat, but it’s really about preventing Mueller’s testimony. trump, on the other hand, just railed in a tweet or whatever that Mueller shouldn’t be allowed to testify. If he didn’t blurt that out, the DOJ would attempt to get their way without seeming unreasonable. Now they just look like they’re cleaning up after the elephants paraded through town (to mix my metaphors).

Why is a good question. Always why. If they have some idea that they can keep things reasonably normal and not going off the rails, that time is passing by swiftly.

But an apt metaphor.

I honestly can’t think why they think they can get away with it.

I’m really assuming they are desperate to save the gop because they really seem to think that it needs to be saved. I think most gop voters will forgive them by 2022 unless it’s worse than we currently know. If Putin, for example, really does have hacked gop emails or evidence that shows the gop as complicit. Or maybe there are really links from Russia to McConnell, Graham, etc.

I mean otherwise they are just burning it all down for an election cycle.

LOL, TPM is on the case

“I don’t think there is any legal way that the President could stop him.”

Chiselin’ Trump: “How quaint.”
