Another questionable business decision. While I feel the neighbors had a right to their opinions about his sign, they shouldnât go any farther than just voicing that opinion. Let the customers make their choice(s) about how to respond.
It appears a pattern is starting to take shape. On the one hand, I am getting a wry laugh at these grifting endeavors â the irony is high with these people. Choosing to victimize your business this wayâthe bakeries, flower shops, pizzerias, delis, etc.âbut donât cry afterward that you were âforcedâ to close down, etc., as you are the one who made the business decision, live with the consequences. Anyone who sends these fools money is a fool themselves; they are being taken for a ride. A serious business owner wouldnât take such risks.
Hey, Iâm white (though have Navajo in me and it shows in my bone structure) and Iâm proud of my heritage â but I am well aware of our social history and the role the majorities have played in that history. I am also well aware that being white has very likely given me numerous breaks in the world â breaks of which I wasnât aware of at the time. I personally donât need a White Pride event to feel good about myself. Iâm suspecting that as our nation becomes more and more of a mixed-race, non-white majority, weâre going to see more of this happening. I hope our nation can learn to move forward, together.

This crap is popping up all over now and I hope they are all forced to go out of business, one way or another. This happened the other day in Michigan where I live. I posted a local link two days agoâŚThink Progress got the story yesterday.

Iâll give it a week and see where it goes. I do hope the audienceâwhether they agree with these grifters or notâare starting to catch on. It is much like walking the streets of a downtown business district and coming across countless folks asking for spare change. Many of them are well-deserving but, unless one is independently wealthy, one cannot give to every person seeking a handout.
This whole scene that is shaping up just might be a really good learning experience for the majority of the people involved (Iâm including the very conservative folks who seem to champion these acts). There is only but so much money in these peopleâs bank accounts, like the poor âvictimâ or not.

If he had given it much thought, all he would have needed to do to insure success of his GoFundMe effort would have been for his sign to say <i.>âWhite Christian History Monthâ, and the money would have poured in by the hundreds of thousands. There is no better or easier grift in this country than to play the âpersecuted for my Christian faithâ card. The âWhiteâ part would just be the icing on the cake.

He was not âforced to shut downâ his deli. He put the sign up less than a month ago, and if a bad month of revenue is enough to make closing down his only option then he was on the verge of it anyway.
He made a terrible business decision, and as a result lost business. It was poor management and marketing that hurt him, not racism or anything else.

Wingers love to scam the world. They talk and talk and talk about working and running your own business, keeping America, America, or whatever. But they donât tell you the truth, they all want the easy way out and the easy way out is to scam people out of money in the name of freedum! Big-Time Kudos to this lady!
While I applaud her taking an active role in helping those in need, I do hold some reservations about just anybody doing this. The reason is proper food preparation, sanitation, etc. I totally support her and those like her, but I also support some sort of (very) limited regulations, certification process, etc.
I applaud her and hope she will be able to continue doing her good deed.

This is called being smart. I dont think people are getting that he did this to follow the Indiana episode. He just wants the money. And why not? Conservatives are just waiting to support it. They will eventually learn(although case can be made they never really learn anything.)
