Discussion: Murkowski Says She Supports Resolution To Disapprove Of National Emergency

I’d like to hear Murkowski state that she’d vote for the House resolution submitted by Joaquin Castro. It couldn’t be cleaner.

For Murkowski, every day is Leg Day.

For Collins, every day is… wrist day? I guess I don’t know which muscles are worked when one wrings their hands.

The thing with Collins is I expect as times goes by, she will opt in or fall for every scam in the book. She is so used to her own side doing it to her, someone needs to watch over her as she gets older.

Credit where Credit is due. Murkowski will do the right thing. She is an actual conservative vs the Fascist Enablers who fill up much of the ranks of the Senate GOP caucus.

I suspect that Trump’s approval in ME, plus ME’s general sense of order and process (plus likely some polling her campaign did) will get Collins to vote to disapprove.

Add in Alexander (who since he is not running again, can do the right thing) gets it to 50-50.

They need one more vote, and a no vote will profoundly hurt Gardner, Coryn, and Tillis amoungst others. Beyond that, will be curious to see what the purported “principled” republicans (Sasse, Romney) will do along with what the few remaining institutionalists (Grassley comes to mind) will do.

Come to our side, Lisa. It’s OK if you’re a Blue Dog.

They’ll vote 5-4 (or more than 5) in favor of Trump and tell Congress if they didn’t want a president to be able to do this kinda stuff, they shouldn’t have written the NEA in such a way as to allow it. Maybe I’m alone, but I think the better argument is that the NEA is unconstitutional than somehow what Trump is doing behind its Congress-provided fig leaf is.

The plaintiffs may argue the law is unconstitutional. Who knows? I happen to think SCOTUS will reject Trump’s fake emergency by 7-2.
