Discussion: Mueller Team Hints At Still-Unrevealed PR Firms Involved In Manafort Case

If we insist on getting government out of our lives, let’s damn sure get it out of other people’s lives too.

The rebranding of the GOP likely started with the tea party, but that only demonstrated the extent of the base’s gullibility. It seems more like the pioneering work of the Hungarian right in “simulated democracy” was the breakthrough that produced the PR successes of Orban in 2014 and thereafter. Tools used to control the masses by despots were again taken up, on the promise of economic growth, safety from immigrants and foreign influences, and nostalgia for good old days that never really existed, all the while tearing down institutions. Marketing the democracy simulacrum for elites seems to be Manafort’s specialty. It’s as if we all get to live in a Philip K. Dick novel.

Doubt Mathis deserves to be on this list. McConnell should be instead.

sarah looks drunk without makeup, ugh.She does a nice job of bobby and weaving. She’ll never reach the mountain top though.

Please stop this Hippo hating now ! They are innocent (but dangerous) beatiful animals, no need to drag them into this !

Trump thinks he’s having a good week because the media is sort of playing along with his spy gate bullshit, but especially because the NFL bent to his will. I kinda get why he’s basically lying at will, because a bunch of functional adults at DOJ/FBI/Congress/NFL/Media are crapping in their pants to accommodate him. From the perspective of someone with a totally juvenile sense of control, this is quite amusing and he’ll keep doing it as long as they continue to be suckers. Punch him in the mouth and he’ll go scurrying back to Mar a Lago.

The Dems are also having a good week too because Russia is in the news. As Trump keeps the focus on Russia, the stories about it that are coming out get wider coverage and the corruption seems to be the emerging theme. That bodes well for Dems. Also, Dems are getting their house in order after a very successful week of primaries. The only major challenges left are the 3 house races in CA, and I do think recent data suggest that Dems are cleaning up their act and will avoid the lock out scenario (I also happen to believe they’ve got a better shot to win the top 2 spots in one of those districts than does the GOP…CA-49 is my pick if I had to bet, but we’ll see). Health care and education are also pretty clearly a top issue, and it’s helping red state Dems define the lines of battle. In red and purple states, that really matters most.
