I’m thinking Manafort in particular. Unless he has something incredibly valuable (e.g. trump on paper or recorded) he’s looking at a longer sentence than Gates, which at his age likely means dying in prison anyway. And if he sings, he’s quite plausibly looking at dying sooner than actuarially expected wherever he may be. So the upside of pleading out is much lower for him. He might still cut a deal, but I think it’s to his advantage to be as loudly opposed to a plea as possible for as long as possible, if only to postpone trouble.

The predictable thing about greed is it eventually takes over entirely and eats its host alive. If people like Man-o-fart knew when to quit, they’d probably get away with it. If someone embezzles millions of dollars (or gets it from questionable sources) and then fails to pay taxes on it, he gets what he deserves. 10 Million Dollars after tax is far more valuable than 14 Million dirty dollars. Who can’t live with 10 million in the bank? Anyway, this is what nailed Capone and many other gangsters. Man-o-fart’s other problem is Putin; Vlad doesn’t take kindly to snitches. That stack of Polonium-laced bodies over there sort of explains how he feels.

When this is all over and the anti-King Tub cons go back to their conning ways, I doubt I will still be in agreement with much of their views. We’ll see where Nicole Wallace and Steve Schmidt fall after this dust clears but I’ll miss them both if they revert back to form.

@howardbeale - you’re right! There were supposed to be 3 memos from Camp Nunes - wonder what happened to 2 and 3? Meanwhile, we never did see the Dem’s response and probably never will.

Well, conservatives gonna conservative. The fact that the GOP has crossed the line beyond where many of its former supporters could go doesn’t make them no longer moderately conservative. Have to give them some credit for deciding there was a line in the first place.

  1. Manafort is fucked.
  2. Manafort personally selected one Mike susPence to be Putin’s Cockholster’s running mate; they are joined at the hip.
  3. If Manafort should eventually decide to go for a plea deal, this will not bode well for Vice President Q-Tip Impersonator, much to the chagrin of Mother.
  4. It’s possible Paul rAyn may subsequently go down in history as #44 on the next Presidents and Executive Politics Presidential Greatness Survey, which ranks presidents from best to worst. This will no doubt be much welcomed news to the descendants of James Buchanan, who will see his ranking skyrocket to third Worst. President. Ever.
