Tough, no nonsense one I hope.
Papadopoulos talking smack after a plea deal, Manafort lying after a plea deal, and now, Corsi apparently having second thoughts about his plea deal. I wonder if thereās a reason behind this pattern other than stupid criminals will do stupid criminal things.
And, by the way, I hope Manafort picks his prison of choice wisely this timeā¦it got kind of embarrassing last time.
This was basically my take on it as well. Memo to anyone offered a plea deal ā donāt try to fool Mueller. It is a bad move.
Thatās what worries me. Corsi, Stone, Papadop and now Manafort are telling Mueller to go fuck himself, publicly. That is not normal. I would not be surprised to learn that Trump is fucking with the Mueller investigation.
Yay! and thank you.
Sheās a good judge.
They all think theyāre so damn slick but Mueller knows a trick worth 2 of theirs.
Hey⦠does everyone remember that the plea deal dismissed the other counts against Manafort āwithout prejudiceā? I remember that, and Iām willing to bet that the OSC remembers that, too. so Paulie is looking at a couple of lifetimes in jail, if Mueller wants to play hard ball. And Paulieās guilty plea is going to play into any new trial in interesting ways, I should think.
Paulie is the poster child for Everything Trump Touches Dies.
These guys are clearly idiots if they think Trump is going to pardon them. He will let them die in jail.
Yup Choices
Prison or a Polonium cocktail or maybe a fall out a fourth floor window
Besides Mueller asks questions he already knows the answer to.
Thats how he knows heās lying
Their modus operandi is always to obfuscate and avoid admitting the truth. As much as they might want to save themselves, this idea of pleading and having to tell the truth is painful and unnatural for them. They particularly donāt like the idea that they may have to suffer even the mildest of consequences for their actions. (Iām lookāin at you, George P.)
It seems like theyāve all subsisted thus far in a right-wing bubble which has provided them with constant validation and freedom from accountability. So when Mueller came knocking and dragged them out of the bubble, none of them really knew how to behave. They tried to do what they had always been doing and expected it to go their way, same as always.
They do seem to be holding out some hope that the bubble will be extended in their direction to reabsorb them into its anti-reality embrace before they are made to suffer the consequences.
No, pardons are in the mail. Itās Christmas!!
How could we possibly expect someone that lies for a living to stop lying? Why, it would be like thinking tRump would stop lying and thatās not going to happen and they always think theyāre smarter than anyone else.
It is quite possible that Manafort lied due to fear for his safety from those he was flipping on.
It would be a Princess Bride worthy double cross if Mueller cooked up the phony āManafortās lyingā deal to try to protect him a little.
For Brutus Trump is an honourable man; stable genius;
So are they all, all honourable menā stable geniuses!
Judge Jackson lamented in the Van der Zwaan sentencing about the people she has had to sentence who were of far less means than Van der Zwaan, who had everything. I donāt think she is going to look kindly on Paulie the traitor.
Can you elaborate?
Iām not sure what you mean by āwill now seize all of [his] assets for having violated the plea deal.ā
Forfeiture of ill-gotten gains (or equivalent thereof) was part of the plea deal.
Hereās the list:
The thing about lying, corruption, and bad behavior in general is that you can get away with it until canāt. That may be two minutes, two years, or two decades, but it eventually has a way of catching up to you. The problem for the kinds of folks who get away with it for decades is that they never quite learn to stop even after the behavior threatens to further destroy them. They canāt stop and they canāt help themselves.
