The source being someone who has absolutely no interest in minimizing the criminal exposure of Dotard’s offspring, I’m sure. Seriously, are there ANY journalistic standards for granting anonymity to obtain quotes that are then transcribed uncritically and without context? I’d be all for a moratorium against reprinting such dreck at TPM.
Point being that the headlines suggests some juicy bit about Mueller sharpening his knives and, instead, we’re fed a summary that largely conveys the general impression that Uday Trump and Lady Qusay Trump are in the clear.
Sigh.

Well, Junior and Ivanka were recommended for actual prosecution for their LIES (not ‘lies’) in the Trump Soho mess so it’s not like they ‘always’ follow Best Practices doctrine, is it?
Golly, for once I hope there ARE emails in full black and white glory (I hate it when people ‘color up’ a page, don’t you?) and that there are RESPONSES from both of them.

I like this focus on the Trump family’s corrupt business motives, bribery, inducements and that they would do anything, without restraint, to get the money they needed to service their debt burden and keep the gravy train running. I think that’s the essential truth about the Trump family. They’re just low life grifters who got to play on the big stage because Daddy gave them a big profile and their hotels became money laundering magnets as the DOJ simply looked the other way on white collar crimes in the 90s and especially the 00s while focused more on terrorism.

Yes, he’ll never stop – it’s literally pathological. I’ve always though Roy Cohn’s influence on Trump was exaggerated, and has cause and effect backwards. It’s not that Trump learned from Roy Cohn, so much as he was attracted to Roy Cohn and comfortable with him because he validated behavior Trump was going to do anyway. Sort of like how selfish people find themselves part of the Ayn Rand cult at some point – joining the cult doesn’t make them selfish, but learning about “the virtue of selfishness” validates behavior they would have engaged in anyway and makes them feel better. Trump’s brand of narcissism means he’s unable to stop lying, so hearing how that’s actually awesome and what all the tough, smart people do would be enormously attractive to him. Enter Roy Cohn.

Just doing time in a shapeless cheap dress, without the massages and facials and manicures she requires, not to mention the progression of dark roots as her hair grows, would make me smile. I’d pay to have a guard snap pictures of her every day to post in magazines and on the internet.

That would be okay for Jared and Ivanka, but I’m pretty sure Junior’s girlfriend would not want her Foxy Friends to categorize him that way. My guess is she’d rather be attached to an imprisoned conservative than a liberal (she tried that and it didn’t work out well).

Just an observation: a recent thread mentioned a male non-concentual inmate interaction as being offensive. While I did not feel as strongly, Is this not suggesting a similar fate? asking for a friend.
