We’ve got Congress for that!
Though he’s not a ‘never Trump’ guy, this is somewhat strange because Burr isn’t running for reelection.
Four words: Conserve the white patriarchy.
Boy, this redacted report is really clearing Fat Ass, ain’t it? LOL!
Someone at Amazon is having a little too much fun today…
So Junior skates because he’s allegedly too ignorant to be a criminal, and Senior skates because it would be too hard or take too long to get him to play by the rules.
This is how they always get away with it. If only justice was so lenient or lazy for all of us.
Yeah, big mistake not subpoenaing tRump imo. It could’ve been done even if he wasn’t going to indict a sitting president. It had all the elements of getting to the truth behind what other members of his campaign team were up to and who were ordered to do what firsthand from the horse’s mouth. Mueller fell short for whatever reason, justifiable or not, I have no idea. No other way for me to look at it. Its now up to Congress. Give them the un-redacted report. NOW.
How much you wanna bet Barr has already provided some of the national security matters that were redacted to trump’s team and particularly his son-in-law on trump’s team as one of his lawyers? Just like he wouldn’t admit to Congress that he gave the report to trump’s team, I really think he’s informed them of various redacted information one way or another too. All along the way we’ve learned how the trump team and trump himself were read in on what Mueller was up to and was impeded by people not authorized to say anything to the WH. Burr in the Senate, on a committee responsible for investigation and oversight, was found carrying water for trump and informing the WH in an underhanded way. I’m sure there’s a long list of people that fit that bill in Congress that helped to obstruct the investigation as well. This whole thing stinks.
No shame a duh face!
Completely agree. What did they think they were supposed to be doing? Did they understand the consequences of submitting a half-baked report? There’s a ton in there, as far as I can tell, but a lot of it boils down to hints that there was a lot more information to get.
What makes sense is that Mueller knew he was going to be shut down and punted to congress with as many bread crumbs as he could get away with. It’s still cowardly, but understandable.
“Recognizing that the President would not be interviewed voluntarily, we considered whether to issue a subpoena for his testimony. We viewed the written answers to be inadequate. But at that point, our investigation had made significant progress and had produced substantial evidence for our report. We thus weighed the costs of potentially lengthy constitutional litigation, with resulting delay in finishing our investigation against the anticipated benefits for our investigation and report”
What were these anticipated benefits? Who are the beneficiaries? What is he talking about? What about the anticipated detriments, including that no future president will see fit to personally be examined by an independent or special counsel because of the “Mueller rule”? This is truly astonishing stuff–the kind of draft memo that gets tossed back by the boss with instructions to start over.
“We determined that the substantial quantity of information we had obtained from other sources allowed us to draw relevant factual conclusions on intent and credibility, we are often inferred from circumstantial evidence and assessed without direct testimony from the subject of the investigation.”
What the hell is this? Mueller doesn’t subpoena because there’s enough alternative evidence as to Trump’s intent and credibility–and then he finally concludes that there’s isn’t enough evidence on intent and credibility to draw a relevant factual conclusion? I mean, this beggars belief.
When they return from Easter break, I want every congresscritter to be able to say to Ms Pelosi “My constituents are pissed about this! We’ve got to do something!”
Well I can dream. I called and emailed my rep. If everyone did the same, this could happen.
Lots of circular logic in that report.
I think Ol’ Bob sold us out. I wonder just what kompromat the russians have on him too?
Though he’s not a ‘never Trump’ guy, this is somewhat strange because Burr isn’t running for reelection.
Burr was a national security adviser to the Donald Trump campaign.
Head exploding in 3 … 2 … 1 …
Possibly. Still doesn’t explain why he didn’t manage to get Don Jr. on a fairly open and shut case of gleefully working with the Russians to get dirt on Hillary in trump tower, and having daddy dearest lie for him afterwards on the plane, with Hope Hicks saying those communications would never see the light of day. That happened early in the investigation so that seems weird that he didn’t make that much of a focus. What about all the questions about getting sanctions lifted and the possible quid pro quo building a fucking trump tower Moscow that would net trump the most money he’s ever seen if that were to happen? Nah, Mueller dropped the ball. He didn’t go after his finances which we all thought he was working diligently on, and he didn’t cross the red line of his family. Too much obfuscation by trump’s enablers prevented Mueller from moving forward, and it all falls under obstruction of justice because people refused to tell the truth about Russian connections in particular. That was the one thing they all held firm on as part of their criminal conspiracy. That’s why Congress has to take over and deal with this mess. Its all obstruction of justice. LIke 100’s of counts imo of obstruction for over three years now…which is the one thing that AG Barr says trump cannot be found guilty of…coincidentally.
Ty for that reminder
