Discussion: MSNBC Apologizes For Insensitive Cinco De Mayo Segment (VIDEO)

Wow, we do live in times that are a bit overly-PC, but did they get this script from something the Bluth family would have done at a company picnic or something?

MSNBC, please leave the racism to FoxNews, they already have that market locked up.

Who could have ever anticipated that a network that constantly illustrates its political commentary with clips from sitcoms and movies would resort to something like this?

Is it Hughie? Or EG? Or, gods forbid, are they all same? (I’d use 4 question marks, but the trolls always seem to steal them.)

“This is simply the worst example I have seen of a discriminatory stereotypical portrayal of any community by any media.”

To be clear, the community being slandered here is stupid white people, right? People using the holiday not to celebrate Mexican culture, but as an excuse to drink and act like fools.

This is what happens when you put people on the air at 5:30 a.m. and expect them to be witty and entertaining.

Indeed. A child was killed in Richmond at a Fourth of July celebration a couple of years ago when he was struck in the head by a falling bullet that some fool had fired into the air. People somehow forget that what goes up must come down, and a bullet comes down with very close to the same velocity that it was originally fired, thanks to the action of acceleration due to gravity.

They never found out who was responsible, or even exactly where the shot came from.

Check out Al Jazeera America if your cable network carries it. Sadly, the only cable “news” network that seems interested in doing actual reporting. Unfortunately they have a huge branding problem with most of America.

No, because even the producers and editors were adult back then; probably even older than the on-air journalists.

Back then the news was still journalism, not infotainment; and even the producers and editors were of the profession. This gringo under the sombrero looks to be a self-indulged millennial, who got his job through nepotism.

Yah think? Aren’t they supposed to be the people behind BENGHAZI!!!

OK I’ll be the ‘bad guy’ here. Why is this any different from the non-Irish celebrating St. Patrick’s Day? Fools the world over decide to ‘celebrate’ holidays that have nothing to do with them in a way that might be inappropriate to someone. I think this is an instance where they were looking to be offended and MSNBC was too easy of a target.

Yeah, right? Why is everybody making a big deal about this racist piece of crap being a racist piece of crap? They’re the real racists, right?

At least MSNBC apologized for this.
Faux News would have doubled-down on it.

Compared to the racist bs that comes out of Fox every day - yet I don’t see them apologizing for their stupid.

The RW media in action - attack anything someone else said - but we can say whatever we like - because - Benghazi!
