Discussion: Moulton Says He Had PTSD After Iraq, Introduces Military Mental Health Plan

“Moulton’s admission marks the first time in the modern era that a candidate from a major party has publicly spoken about receiving mental health treatment.”

Well, Trump didn’t speak about it but he’s shown that he had mental health problems and even worse, he was not receiving treatment.

‘…marks the first time in the modern era that a candidate from a major party has publicly spoken about receiving mental health treatment.’ I guess 1972 isn’t considered the modern era…Thomas Eagleton?

If he starts to get any traction with this, what are the chances that Trump makes fun of him for it?

The answer is self-evident.

Trump might try but if he does I hope he is prepared to deal with all the vets, male and female, running for office who nail him on this bone spurs fraud. I hope Mayor Pete’s accusations grow legs in the upcoming months and trump is forced to publicly and repeatedly address the cowardly way he avoided the draft.

There’s a big difference between Moulton discussing his PTSD and Eagleton being outed about his prior mental problems!
You would have known that if you knew how to Google!

Who needs to google Eagleton?

I can tell from your comment that you didn’t read the link I provided! If you had you wouldn’t have posted such a moronic comment!

There might be a big difference between Moulton’s PTSD and Eagleton’s earlier mental problems but they are both classified as mental health treatment. What’s your point? @michaelryerson was only pointing out that Moulton isn’t the only candidate to have had mental health issues.

Credit to Moulton for going public with his illness and introducing much needed legislation. The dude can now move off my shit list and onto my reelect-but-don’t-promote-to-prez list.

100%.

And then watch every single military veteran chastise him severely for dodging his service during the Vietnam War.

So you don’t know? Don’t get your panties in a bunch!

ETA: Yes I did read it. And that’s why I posted the question.

It’s an important issue (his plan - not his treatment). Good on him.

Not likely to vault him into the higher stratosphere of candidates, however. But I think he knows that. I am not sure what the point of his campaign is, but that seems to be the case for a number of the candidates.
