Sounds like a call to open insurrection. That should be interesting.

Dana doesn’t believe in pay cuts.

Same with Ingraham

People who aspire to Hollywood careers often begin their work lives in restaurants. NRA leaders would be wise to never eat out.

To millions of Americans, including me, the “face” of the NRA is Ted Nugent: a slob-hunting, cowardly draft-dodging blowhard who would pee his pants in a real fight. These gun peacocks are not patriots - they shame my country.

Oh, I understand what they want it to mean. What I’m saying is that the video they actually made is so ridiculously melodramatic and downright silly that it’s just laughable.

Mostly what I hear in the ad is Dana Loesch accusing “the left” of doing what the right is actually doing. Tell me if I’m wrong.

Well, she’s right about one thing. The National Rifle Association may well be America’s safest place. They do not allow guns at NRA headquarters. Gun-free zone.

The NRA are a terrorist organization. At the very least they like terrorism so people buy more guns

Yup, it’s a variation on the same theme. It reaffirms political folklore that’s been out there for generations. Decades back, I recall hearing that people who “talked against” the US were commies and if they didn’t like America, they should move to Russia damn it and that was years before Nixon.

I see this as the NRA version of a preemptive strike.

Dude.

Gun violence has become the #1 cause of injury among minors. Most of that is “accidental,” after the NRA has promoted gun ownership but not RESPONSIBLE gun ownership for decades now. The rest of our childhood gun deaths are not accidental. Where does the NRA stand on that? Mute.

This is one of the most sickening videos of the century.

Let’s change the starting point for the discussion. Zero guns = zero gun deaths. Start the discussion THERE.

If someone shows cause for gun ownership, and passes anti-stalking and anti-violence background checks, then fine, they can have a gun. Otherwise, no. End of discussion. Anything less is uncontrolled gun violence. Including violence against minors.

NRA- the Gun Rights group that only supports White people owning guns. I am not just talking about the group’s silence on the Philando Castile shooting, but also it’s absolute silence on the killings of both Tamir Rice and John Crawford, jr by police for even HAVING guns, that weren’t really guns, but why should we expect the police to establish whether a threat exists before they kill someone?

Last time I visited my local gun shop, I was told I could get a discount on a gun I bought if I joined the NRA. I politely mentioned the NRA doesn’t advocate for people like me owning guns, so I don’t support them with membership money. One of the guys working there took exception, but the guy helping me either understood my point or didn’t care.

Sounds like Italy and Germany about 1938.
Nobody believed it would extrapolate back then either.

I don’t think it’s at all ridiculous or anything to be dismissive about.

I saw this ad this morning on another site, and considering the target audience, I would imagine it’s very emotionally powerful. The grainy and fearsome images, the frenetic pacing, the violence-drenched rhetoric, the punchy and ominous soundtrack, Loesch’s outraged yet defiant tone, all contribute to a sense of emergency, menace and dread.

And no – this ad isn’t attempting to sell NRA memberships, but to instill fear.

It’s the kind of thing you need to sell martial law.

I have police officers in my extended family and I can think of no greater threat to their continued safety than the fanatics at the NRA. From their opposition to even the most common sense control laws, to their support for things like armor piercing rounds and assault weapons that are useless for home defense and/or hunting, they put their twisted agenda before the safety of every single American. There was a poll on another thread somewhere, where the question was who was worse, Trump or the Deplorables? NRA = to or > Trump on the worse for the country scale. Fucking disgraceful.

More than that, the NRA’s new ad features wingnut Dana Loesch all but calling for political violence against the anti-Trump resistence.

They’re desperate because gun sales have fallen off since Trump won the election. Desperate, pathetic, and lame.

Even if you personally feel it’s frightening, the best antidote is still mockery. Lampooning it will do more damage to their image than will scolding it from a place of fear.

Sounds like someone just committed a treason against the nation. I do think is sounds like a call to arms to attack any group that actually uses the protections we all have under that document.
