I just got finished listening to Diane Rehm’s show with Tom Gelten filling in for her show. The domestic hour of the show had on Juan Williams (I thought they fired that POS for his conflict of interest with Faux…), Major Garrett (now with CBS, but a Faux wingnut loyalist all the same), and some rightwing twit from Roll Call. What the hell has happened to NPR???

Anyway, all the topics covered today were a rightwing nutjobs wet-dream and a Faux News list of appreciable topics, including the “awkwardness” of Michael Sam kiss. Major Garrett’s comment was that he wasn’t sure ESPN should have shown the kiss, as he was not sure the public was ready for it. Than he put it on ESPN by saying something to the effect that he’s not sure how ESPN arrived at their decision to show it. What a wuss way to discuss such a loving joy-filled moment…only for these commentators it was all about “What will the children think?” kind of commentary, rather than the enlightenment and progress ESPN chose to make by not feeling it had to censor the kiss. Then he or Juan went on to diminish Sam by the late round pick he was chosen from. Et Tu NPR???

Hey, shithead. The problem here isn’t that two dudes kissing was broadcast on ESPN. The problem is that you and people like you, are ill-equipped for living in a modern society. In the sense that civil rights for all people is a priority of the left and anathema to most of the right, this idiot is correct in her presumption. But she chooses to hide her bigotry behind the ludicrous designation of “traditional values.” In my family, traditional values are the ones that show love and compassion for all people, not just the ones who look and act like we do.
