I’m starting to think that Kristol and Coulter are the same person. They are never seen together, they both bark the same memes, they are both consistently wrong, and they both are stubborn as hell.
And of course there’s the Adam’s apple…
Conservative pundits? More like conservative pant-loads.
The enduring mystery of the American media: Why they keep featuring guests who have NEVER been right about anything. In Kristol’s case particularly. Is it just me, or is YouTube suddenly awash in videos of Kristol being cornered by other guests and reacting by shouting?
For the Confederate Flag, clearly for more boots on the ground in Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria and wherever we need to beat somebody up to demonstrate how tough we are, in favor of Sarah Palin (in fact a major factor in her selection by McCain). You can go on and on…and there he is…a “respected commentator,” and worse yet on MSNBC…further evidence of how Fox-like the channel has become.
OK, Kristol. Would you support a monument in Jerusalem flying the Nazi flag? Not to support Hitler, of course, but in memory of the brave German soldiers who lost their lives fighting for a cause they believed in. Doesn’t really matter, I guess Kristol, that the swastika reflects their belief in the superiority of their race. Rather, in your words, we can’t go about “expunging every trace of respect, recognition or acknowledgment of [Germans] who fought for the [Third Reich].”
How about disrespecting the memory of the PATRIOTIC Union soldiers who fought for the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, fighting and dying to SAVE THIS COUNTRY? It kind of sh!ts on them to laud the flag of the traitors, right?
Apparently someone hasn’t told Kristol that the Neo-Nazis are busy using the Confederate Flag as a substitute swastika…and that the people who love the Confederate Flag are typically as antisemitic as they are racist.
I don’t think any one should be forced to respect evil ideals or honor stupid people just because they died for a wrong cause.
It is like the Wahabbi Sunni terrorists who behead people if they don’t meet their demand that people worship their so-called last prophet and not draw cartoons.
This is not what America represents. People and ideas in civilized societies have to earn respect not demand it.
“expunging every trace of respect, recognition or acknowledgment of Americans who fought for the Confederacy.”
Let me help here. The proper response is “Yeah…so fucking what? They were racist slave-trading traitors who tried to tear the country apart so they could continue to own their fellow human beings. Let me repeat that: OWNING. HUMAN. BEINGS. If you need help with the concept of them being contemptable bastards not entitled to nor deserving of any respect or reverence whatsoever, then you’re a fucking retard. Now shut the fuck up and get the fuck out of the way of progress.”
What they SHOULD have done is roll footage of Kristol showing nothing but disrespect for the poor and destitute and then asked him why those people deserve his contempt while people who whipped and hanged people they considered subhuman chattel deserve his worship.
He has NEVER BEEN RIGHT about ANYTHING, and is a jabbering fool when pressed to make a point. His parents were both famous right-wing grifters who were also wrong on every issue, which somehow gives him some vaunted place in the bat shit crazy right wing arena!? Does NO ONE ever demand accountability from these dilettantes, who have NEVER done an honest day’s work in their lives?
“Nobody is talking about any of those things,” Heilemann shot back.
“Literally, I know of no one. This is the classic exercise of straw man
building and knocking down.”
“And I know it’s fun for you. You are trolling by doing these things,
because no one on the left is suggesting what you’re suggesting,”
Heilemann said.
That, my friends, is how it’s done. I hope Heilemann gets an opportunity to train journalists.
On the MSNBC show, as well as in several tweets the day before, the consistently wrong Kristol accused “the left” of trying to tear down Confederate statues and ban the teaching of speeches by Abraham Lincoln … “Nobody is talking about any of those things,” Heilemann shot back.
No one is talking about banning the teaching of speeches by Abe Lincoln. Or about banning the teaching of Abe Lincoln’s speeches for that matter. We like Abe Lincoln.
But, honestly, I’m okay with the whole tearing-down-Confederate-statues thing. That sounds like a pretty solid plan.
I was looking up more history on the confederate flag and I found a site that talked about how much the KKK used the American flag. That’s true and there is plenty of evidence to back it up, but he doesn’t get it. The American flag was created as a symbol of our independence from English rule. Our main greivance was legitimate - we had almost zero say in our own destiny. The confederate flag was created specifically as a symbol for people who didn’t want to be told they couldn’t own other people. Big difference between co-opting a generally positive symbol and creating a symbol of nefarious ideas.
“Amazon is reacting to the market. You’re a free-market guy, right Bill?”
Bill: [sputtering sounds] “Erm ,um… Do you think Amazon should stop selling anything by Karl Marx?”
The Trolls wrote back. They say, “Nuh-uh! Coulter ain’t one o’ ours. We don’t want nothin’ to do with ‘er. Try the Banshees. We think she might be one o’ them!”
