Discussion: 'Morning Joe' Challenges Reporters To Compare Their Trump Coverage To Competitors' (VIDEO)

Joe DeadIntern claims that he and Mika asked tough questions of Trump. Actually, they did ask a few. But in every single case, they allowed Trump to spew the most vague, general, unspecific and laughingly inane answers without pressing him for more or following up. The questions, Joe, are not the point. It’s the answers that matter.

"Scarborough then invoked his mother, giving a Southern twist to the old adage “He among us without sin cast the first stone.”

Better be careful about bringing your Mother into this Joe:

“Trump: Bush ‘had to bring in mommy’ to help”

shorter Joe #1: We’re horrible and close to the bottom, but CNN is way worse.

shorter Joe #2: "I’m angling for a job in the Trump Cabinet—Minister of Disinformation & Boss-Fluffing

“We asked tough questions and it wasn’t the first time that we ever interviewed him.”

Um…that’s really not a very high bar to clear, Ricky.

Scarborough and Brzezinski have a formula for what the networks call success. They write themselves into every story they cover, and they cover every story by interviewing their terminally present guests. Instead of actual reporting and booking experts for the show, these two geniuses call on Mike Barnicle and Eugene Robinson to handle just about any topic that comes up. Like a pair of drug store cowboys, the ever present Barnicle and Robinson serve mostly as props at the table, to be lectured to and instructed by the hosts. They are encouraged to speak up whenever Scarborough needs to come up for air, but mostly they just sit and stare at the the guy doing all the talking.

The problem with all of these people isn’t the questions; it’s that they allow the candidates to not answer!

The Scarborough 5 year old defense: every one else does it. Setting a low bar is business as usual for Joe.

Is it just me, or does Mika always sitting next to Joe - doing nothing but nodding and agreeing to whatever Joe says - make Joe seem like he’s a ventriloquist?

Jocab is so full of Hot air…They let dRumphie ‘Phone In’ daily!!! Barnacle, Rattner, Willie, and Katy Kay are missed though…

Total waste of time , I could not abide his constant over talk and blind highschool remembering of his time in Congress before the intern died… Pack of lies I am told by my friends in Florida!

Yeah, whatever you say, Trump Twins. Your righteous indignant crowing will no doubt cement your status as two individuals that uninformed right wingers confuse with actual journalists.

I’ve thought of her as Joe’s bobblehead doll. Every once in a while she’ll get riled up, like when she took a stand for all women in her income bracket. But by and large, it’s bobble-this and bobble-that bobble bobble bobble

So this argument boils down to who fellated Trump less?

Scarborough (I no longer watch the show) and company have become Trump’s personal show and as such free advertising as they allow him to call in whenever he wants to, often replaying the Trump tirade (s) in the next hour of Jose Diaz-Balart’s show. As a result, people were expecting harder questions and not softballs. Scarborough and Mika have lost respect from many former viewers over Trump reporting. They are like ambulance chasers after Trump. It is for the sake of ratings that they did the town hall. Why was Trump the only candidate in it? The show is ridiculously partisan, and Mika, OMG, she’s a puppet with nothing to say. CNN does not cater to the candidates like this show does.

How’s that? That looks like Elvis, right? Wait okay here. How about that? Elvis, right? The slight lip sneer thing, I loved that! I was a yuge fan! Yuge!

Keep it up Joe. Never say die! (or “dead intern”)

That’s Bill O’Reilly’s favorite approach, yelling “Go look at the transcripts!” when if you do, it shows the opposite of what he’s claiming was the case.

People have done videos of entire collections of times that Trump himself has claimed “I never said that!” followed by clips of him saying it. “Go look at the video! Go read the transcript!” is classic blowhardian smoke screening.

It’s all for effect in the present shouty moment, they know almost no one will ever actually go look, and if anyone did, and came back saying he’s a liar, who’s going to hear about it or care?

The MSNBC hour was just awful, plain awful. Trump did not answer one question. He just went on a rant about things are awful and I will make them great. It was pathetic to watch Joe and Mika just sit there and let him get away with it. The powers that be at MSNBC should seriously consider retiring these two worthless mouthpieces.

The blow hard motor mouth Scarborough has been in the tank for Trump for months, inviting him (Trump) to call in every morning for some free air time. He has carte blanche to Donald’s office and as you pointed out, he went to Trumps after prom er I mean debate party. Is he looking for a job in the administration?

So Scarborough’s argument is that his lame questions are no lamer than the lame questions asked by the other networks. Sounds like a lame excuse.
