Discussion: Moore Calls Out McConnell's Response To Allegations Against Franken

Franken has asked for an investigation after one allegation. Moore has not after multiple credible allegations. And at least Franken wasn’t diddling CHILDREN, for Pete’s sake!

And actually Mitch has been consistent. Investigations all around, as it should be.

Good Lord, this guy is a monster.

One is admitting to the allegation. One is denying the allegation. See the difference?

Yeah, one has some shame and the other doesn’t.

Keep it up, Roy. Stay right there in the headlines. And by all means, let’s investigate all of the men accused!

What investigation could McConnell actually undertake before he is elected much less seated? He is a private citizen holding no current office and really only “works for” the AL GOP at this point.

I don’t think Franken has admitted anything beyond posing for that stupid picture. But the real difference is that there’s one accusation being made against Franken vs. more than a half dozen against Moore. Franken’s accuser was an adult at the time while most of Moore’s were children. Franken is accused of inappropriately kissing someone and Moore is accused of trying to rape a child.

… and Donald Trump is still president because?

Call me a stodgy old traditionalist, Mr. Moore- but a paid comedian hamming it up for a picture is not quite the same as an elected public official pressuring a single mom in order to gain access to her 14 year old child for sexual gratification.

As a vile and disgraceful degenerate you may disagree.

Only an idiot would treat both of those situations equally. And Moore has apparently eagerly volunteered to be “that person”.

He doesn’t seem particularly bright, mr Moore, does he?

Nope. Not at all. Fortunately for him (and unfortunately for everybody else), he is a Republican candidate in Alabama where a lot of people apparently don’t seem to care how smart their politicians are. :-/

Sen. Franken should be censured and required to apologize, both to his colleagues and to the victim. However, it is not necessary that he be banned from shopping malls or the YMCA.

It’s very interesting that with all the time Tweeden spent as a model, and as a sports broadcaster, and as a commentator on Fox News, that the ONE guy she accused of sexual misconduct happened to be a Democratic senator.

Nice try, Rapey McRaperson. Franken’s misdeeds are that he made a dumb photo and maybe kissed a grown woman too vehemently in a way she didn’t care for. You sexually assaulted a child and tried to rape a teenager. See the difference?

Which is exactly the same as a tasteless photo of a man touching a woman wearing an iron lung.

Understood. To be bluntly honest, i haven’t fully read everything about this. I’m late to this entire story. My reaction was based on the headline.

Testimony from witnesses is evidence. As a lawyer Roy Moore knows that. There is also physical evidence of acquaintanceship in his signature in one accuser’s yearbook. So Ol’ Roy is flat out lying again.

More importantly, the accusations of stalking and sexually assaulting young teens repeatedly are far more serious than the situation with Franken.

Franken wrote a script which included him kissing his co-performer. She suspected his motives but agreed to go along planning to one up him by sabotaging the kiss. In the event he grabbed her and gave her an inappropriately sexual kiss. She rebuked him and he never repeated his offense and they continued to do the skit. He further pantomimed groping her while she was asleep, mugging for the camera. He now acknowledges what he did and apologizes. While wrong, this is orders of magnitude different than Roy Moore who was stalking young teens and trying to force them to satisfy his sexual desires in situations which were often terrifying for them. Roy denies his actions and is unrepentant.

I’m surprised dog-whistle racist Moore didn’t mention Franken is Jewish. Maybe “Bernie Bernstein” will.

“No evidence”, he says.

@pluckyinky And even more corroborating accounts.
