“I think immorality has sunken to a new low, and I think in this race I have been very much impressed with the lack of morality in political advertisements,” Moore said. “They say anything, they do anything, just to win. They don’t care who they hurt.”

“They say anything, they do anything, just to win. They don’t care who they hurt.”

A clear, concise and irrefutable description of GOP political campaigns and governance. He’ll fit in well.

This is the aspect of the current horrorshow that frightens me the most: their unerring talent for Orwellian doublespeak. Like “Freedom Caucus”, “Project Veritas,” etc. The Dems most definitely do not have the flair … I sold my soul in ad copy for many years. I’m available.

My favorite was always “The Clean Air Act” from Reagan’s term.

Doug Jones’ emails, am I right?

OT: Bad news for LGBT Americans. Nobody could have known Trump/Pence was terrible for equality:

The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday let stand a Texas ruling that said the right to a marriage license did not entitle same-sex couples to spousal benefits under employee insurance plans.

It’s good to see the term decency taken back by the likes of the Alabama papers. Essentially the golden rule.
For years the term was co opted by the likes of Moore, Falwell, Robertson and Anita Bryant to justify the oppression of others and bastardize so called traditional values.

This is the ultimate in Republican projection.

I think that was Moore’s attitude about the young girls he molested. In his case winning was defined a little differently but the attitude is exactly the same.

It is sort of like Lyle and Erik Menendez asking for clemency because they are orphans.

71% of Alabama Republicans don’t believe sexual allegations against Roy Moore. The other 29% were his victims.
[/quote]If they’re Republican and/or religious enough, even some of the victims don’t believe their own allegations.

If Rapey Roy is elected, then yes, it’s a new low for Alabama and for the U.S. Senate.

And you have to go pretty low to set a new low for either one of those.
