My dad was there (Guadalcanal). He piloted a landing barge. Also took it in to rescue marines. He never mentioned it to us (family) even once. A friend of his told us about it. Real heroes and warriors don’t strut and boast and wave guns about, let alone wear pearls to mock mothers of murdered children.
